Re: Disability Community Responds to Hateful Comments by Michael Savage (Score: 1) by demeus Saturday, August 23 @ 16:33:22 EDT (User Info | Send a Message) | | They are allowed to do that because they are still entitled to their opinion and they are entitled to legally express that opinion.
I remember getting into arguments too about various issues. The one I remember most is the argument against my Abnormal Psych teacher because he stated that drugs are the of all, end all, cure of psychiatric disorders.
That said, the teacher, regardless of their opinion, is still legally required to follow the law regarding accomidations for those with AS, regardless of their opinion. If the teacher laughed because of such a request, simply tell them that unfortunately, you will have to take it up with higher school personnel.
I would rather live in a world where at least I know where people stand rather than where people are afraid to state their opinions. |
