One Way Mirror.... posted at 01:45 pm on 06-11-2009
Isn't it strange how some people seem to be stuck in a house of mirrors? Seeing their outsides only, never their insides, or anyone elses. To me they are open widows, and I am a one way mirror. I can see inside of them, but they can't see inside of me...To the one way mirrors who have their mirror side pointed inward, they see their physical beauty but cannot see themselves...or me. To the one way mirrors pointed outward, the inward mirrors only see how great they look in comparison to the outward mirrors...physically, and some may look deeper into themselves, but they don't show it.... or maybe...maybe they do look past my physical being, and see me, but they don't show it..........the never show it.....
But the outward mirrors are the ones that truely see who the inward mirrors are: Vane, vicious, cruel, aimless, mundane........Just some food for thought....just a whim....just an idea....an opinion...just a feeling, a memory, a painful memory....

The Dragon Who Eats the Sun posted at 01:45 pm on 06-11-2009
This is really weird...Lately my mom found this thing that I remember doing. I told this to my mom and she wrote it down..Now this was when I was four, and it may not make sence at first, but I think I was talking about a war.
The Dragon Who Eats the Sun
by Sarah DeBlois age 4 yrs 11mos 8/27/98
....
....
This is where the sun rises
on the eagles of light
and by the dancing dragon
the Chinese evil of battle.
....
When the sun never shines
the dragon will live.
the Chinese children are screaming
when the dragon comes.
the children are hiding in different places around the world
....
When the dragon comes
the Chinese children won’t be alive anymore.
the circle of life will be broken
if the Chinese children die of the
eagles warrior.
....
When the heart of the eagles of war
and when the map to England
has a Chinese letter in it,
then the heart of the dragon
and the eagle battle.
....
When the heart of the eagles of war never change,
If the English people of life will change into the future,
the dragon’s future will be gone.
....
The heart of peace
Never gives up to the dust.

I Go Back to May 1937 by Sharon Olds (see link for reading video) posted at 01:43 pm on 06-11-2009
I Go Back to May 1937
By Sharon Olds
I see them standing at the formal gates of their colleges,
I see my father strolling out
under the ochre sandstone arch, the
red tiles glinting like bent
plates of blood behind his head, I
see my mother with a few light books at her hip
standing at the pillar made of tiny bricks,
the wrought-iron gate still open behind her, its
sword-tips aglow in the May air,
they are about to graduate, they are about to get married,
they are kids, they are dumb, all they know is they are
innocent, they would never hurt anybody.
I want to go up to them and say Stop,
don’t do it—she’s the wrong woman,
he’s the wrong man, you are going to do things
you cannot imagine you would ever do,
you are going to do bad things to children,
you are going to suffer in ways you have not heard of,
you are going to want to die. I want to go
up to them there in the late May sunlight and say it,
her hungry pretty face turning to me,
her pitiful beautiful untouched body,
his arrogant handsome face turning to me,
his pitiful beautiful untouched body,
but I don’t do it. I want to live. I
take them up like the male and female
paper dolls and bang them together
at the hips, like chips of flint, as if to
strike sparks from them, I say
Do what you are going to do, and I will tell about it

Broken Promises by David Kirby posted at 01:41 pm on 06-11-2009
Broken Promises
By David Kirby
I have met them in dark alleys, limping and one-armed;
I have seen them playing cards under a single light-bulb
and tried to join in, but they refused me rudely,
knowing I would only let them win.
I have seen them in the foyers of theaters,
coming back late from the interval
long after the others have taken their seats,
and in deserted shopping malls late at night,
peering at things they can never buy,
and I have found them wandering
in a wood where I too have wandered.
This morning I caught one;
small and stupid, too slow to get away,
it was only a promise I had made to myself once
and then forgot, but it screamed and kicked at me
and ran to join the others, who looked at me with reproach
in their long, sad faces.
When I drew near them, they scurried away,
even though they will sleep in my yard tonight.
I hate them for their ingratitude,
I who have kept countless promises,
as dead now as Shakespeare’s children.
“You bastards,” I scream,
“you have to love me—I gave you life!”

Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe (see link for reading video) posted at 01:40 pm on 06-11-2009
Annabel Lee
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes!- that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Lyrics to "Memories" by Within Temptation (see link for music video) posted at 01:33 pm on 06-11-2009
In this world you tried,
Not leaving me alone behind.
There's no other way,
I pray to the gods let him stay.
The memories ease the pain inside,
And now I know why.
All of my memories keep you near.
In silent moments,
Imagine you being here.
All of my memories keep you near,
In silent whispers, silent tears
Made me promise I'd try,
To find my way back in this life.
Hope there is a way,
To give me a sign you're okay.
Reminds me again it's worth it all,
So I can go home.
All of my memories keep you near.
In silent moments,
Imagine you being here.
All of my memories keep you near.
In silent whispers, silent tears.
Together in all these memories,
I see your smile.
All of the memories I hold dear.
Darling you know I'll love you,
Til the end of time.
All of my memories keep you near
In silent moments,
Imagine you being here.
All of my memories keep you near,
In silent whispers, silent tears.

A Psalm Of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (see link for reading video) posted at 01:31 pm on 06-11-2009
Memorized this one for Poetry Out Loud ^^
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)
A PSALM OF LIFE
WHAT THE HEART OF THE YOUNG MAN
SAID TO THE PSALMIST
TELL me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream ! —
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real ! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal ;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way ;
But to act, that each to-morrow
Find us farther than to-day.
Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle !
Be a hero in the strife !
Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant !
Let the dead Past bury its dead !
Act,— act in the living Present !
Heart within, and God o'erhead !
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time ;
Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.
Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate ;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

If by Rudyard Kipling (see link for reading video) posted at 01:30 pm on 06-11-2009
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

Call me crazy... posted at 01:29 pm on 06-11-2009
Call me selfish,
Call me crazy,
Call me stubborn,
Call my lazy . . .
And you would be right. . . . in a way
I am selfish, because shared secrets will stay mine,
even though the time for keeping them may appear to be past
I am crazy, because despite myself, I let myself get into things that I know will hurt me in the end . . . . just to know that I lived it
I am stubborn, because even when everyone around me tries to tell me to stop being crazy, I won't let them sway me
And I am lazy, because I would never, ever lift a finger for vengance, for there is no such thing as vengance in my eyes. Everything that I get, I deserve . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I know im being cryptic . . . . . . but thats just me isn't it ? . . .
In a way . . . . . Im glad no one really reads my blog . . . . .
I can vent . . . . . . .

Permenant marker... posted at 01:28 pm on 06-11-2009
Have you ever, maybe when you were a little kid, so bored you could scream, picked up a marker (or more specifically a permanent marker) and just...drew pretty pictures on the wall? I did...
And having said that, you have witnessed, maybe for the first time, your parents yelling at you, then telling you to clean it off?....
You think "Hey, no problem" but when you get started, sopping rag in hand, scrubbing furiously at the wall, frustrated that you can't get the damn thing to go away, then you tryed bleach (hopefully under the supervison of a parent) but it only turned the rest of the wall white, making your pretty pictures even more visible.................
Well, those pretty pictures are still there, reminding you about your "Big uh-oh"...Still there....and they will always be there...Until the house is condemned and destroyed...they will always be there........
And then as you grow up, another type of permanent marker...a mix of human hormones and our "intelligence"...exists for us. Someone comes along...a guy or a girl, depending on who you are, that leaves a piece of their souls with you, and takes a piece of yours. Even when they leave, it's still there, the pretty pictures, the pretty memories...still there. It's as if we can't erase them, no mater how hard we try.
The thing is, I don't want to try. I don't want to scrub it untill my hands are raw. I don't want to bleach my heart white trying. I want to leave the pretty pictures there as long as I can until I am condemned...and destroyed......
So....when I look back at that time, to that memory that many of us share, I don't regret drawing the pretty pictures on the wall, just like I don't regret making those pretty...pretty memories...

“Alone”
By Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood’s hour I have not been
As others were—I have not seen
As others saw—I could not bring
My passions from a common spring—
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow—I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone—
And all I lov’d—I lov’d alone—
Then—in my childhood—in the dawn
Of a most stormy life—was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still—
From the torrent, or the fountain—
From the red cliff of the mountain—
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold—
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by—
From the thunder, and the storm—
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view—
