"Autism is a disease" my ass.

I'm so tired of people saying that Autism/Asperger's is a disease. Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that if you touched someone who had Autism/AS, you'd become "infected", you'd "have it", like it's a sickening disease. People are stupid sometimes. Hello! It's a disorder, not a disease. it's in the brain, it's not a bacteria, not a virus. There's no shot to "cure it", there's no pill to take to "make it better". And the way people interprit it is also annoying. "OMG, he has Asperger's!? How horrible!" Shut up, okay? There's nothing wrong with it, in my opinion. It's just a different way to act. It's not like they have some hideous deformity that makes people want to wretch and vomit on sight. There's no cure, and people shouldn't attempt to find a cure, because there's no need for it. It's insulting, and people should just get it right. I'm sick of it. Who agrees?
