When I am checking my mail at Yahoo, the little blue circle keeps turning and turning, even though the page has fully loaded. Is this a problem with Yahoo, or my internet browser? I use Mozilla.

Its because Yahoo clutter their mail pages up with all those Adobe Flash banner ads that take forever to load (and sometimes cause the browser to crash altogether).

I hate that I often have to wait forever clicking through three pages to get to my Inbox because Yahoo won't let me go to the next one until the stupid ad stops loading.

I've tried routing my mail through Mozilla Thunderbird, but I can't find the proper POP & SMTP server settings to make it work.

So it's Yahoo that is making the problem. And I, too have tried to set up Thunderbird for e-mail, but couldn't find the proper settings either. Can anyone help with setting up the POP and SMTP for Thunderbird?

I run FF 3.5 with NoScript and don't have any problems with ymail. But circumstances may be a bit different on Yahoo mail.

You should be able to get the proper settings from your ISP.

Or use Gmail, or any of a host of other mail systems...

How do I get these settings? I looked in Yahoo tutorials, but couldn't find anything helpful.

You have to pay $20/yr for POP access for Yahoo Mail. There used to be a work around that if you tell Yahoo that you want Yahoo Asia as your content (people outside the U.S. get free yahoo POP). I don't think it works anymore. There is also something called Ypops! that suppose to allow you to use free POP. I haven't used it though so I'm not sure.

YPOPs!
Yahoo - Upgrade to Yahoo Plus
Change to Asia Content (I don't think it works anymore)
