(true story, just happened)

So I was surfing the web home alone when - crap! - the ring bells. I was still in my pajamas so that really pissed me off... I didn't want to go all the way to the door in vain, so I asked from my window by yelling (first floor so I was invisible to the people in the door)

- Who is it?
- Hi we want to talk to you.
- About what?
- About the wisest man of all time and his teachings.

Darn mormons/Jehova Witnesses/Raelians/Whatever ruining my Saturday morning! Thank god I reacted fast:

- Confucius?
- What?
- Confucius?
- No, it is not Confucious!
- Ah

Then I returned in silence to my computer's desk.

Very good. JWs are the big problem around here. I have a "Private Property No Witnessing" sign on my garage door. My driveway is 3000 feet long, muddy and steep.

Never a problem with Jehovah Witnesses or evangelicals. I live above a building used for commercials purposes, so the chance is already minimal and I had a neighbour who was a JW. Since I already belong to a church he understood that I was not interested in switching faith; it gave some interesting discussions. And it works with evangelicals too, you just say that you already belong to God.

Your solution also worked fine Smile

Yes, that was a good one thumright

Here, we're fortunate enough that doorstep is prohibited, especially for religions. So they don't come bothering us as they used to do.
... They didn't start by phone yet, I hope they won't Shocked

I know someone who told them he was Buddhist. It was not usual at the time, they looked at him Shocked and went away fast and quiet.

Good one. Wink I can imagine how annoying it could be when people knock on your door like that. Luckily I don't think they can do that where I live.... I think. Shocked

A friend of mine was once visited by a pair of missionaries early on a Saturday morning. Stumbling in his bathrobe, he still had the presence of mind to go to the kitchen first and grab the candy jar... upon opening the door, he started giving them handfuls of candy, with the comment "Aren't you boys a little early this year? What are you supposed to be, a religion?" before closing the door and returning to bed. They never got to say a word.

The best thing to do, if you can see who's out there before they see you, is to answer the door in nothing but your underwear - The reaction on their face(s) would be priceless! Laughing These people really annoy me - which reminds me to put a "No Soliciting" sign on the door - except for Girl Scout cookies, of course! Very Happy
