Kalamazoo County, April 29, 2005, 4:51 p.m.) An autism advocacy group announced Friday it will be filing a lawsuit against the Parchment School District in regards to the death of a student.
Michael Renner-Lewis III, an autistic 15-year-old boy, suffered a seizure on the first day of school two years ago at Parchment High School. Four school employees restrained him until one noticed the boy passed out. The teen later died.

Now, the Michigan Protection and Advocacy Service and Autism Society of Michigan is planning to file a lawsuit against the district.

Renner-Lewis’ mother has already filed a $25 million lawsuit against the district for the way she says the situation was handled.

As for the school, it has no comment on the pending lawsuits.

Earlier this week, the Kalamazoo County prosecutor decided not to file any charges in connection with the case.
