Being on the spectrum creates a life-long full time job just to learn, practice, relearn, refine, how to cope in different situations — this is on top of normal life requirements. Stress comes from coping with sensory sensitivities, social sensitivities, learning a new skill, forcing oneself to keep motivated to do many things that feel unnatural and wrong, along with hygiene and nutrition. I feel like I need to do more than the average person just to stay clean, and can fall behind because of time constraints. Not having any support system makes the world seem a lot like the old game Asteroids. It is a never ending game of dealing/coping with attacks, and not much else is accomplished.
