Well, to be honest I've come to terms that there are many jobs I simply will never be able to do. I would never be able to be a secretary, because I lack social skills and hate talking on the phone. I could never be a salesperson, because I can't pursuade others. I can't be a film director because I lack the ability to order people around. I don't know much about military life, but maybe they're right, maybe it's just not a career that's suitable for him. Really, when people's lives are at stake, you really should have the best of the best and not cater to individual's desires to pursue whatever careers they want.
Mock people much?
I have, I have moved on to other things, I have no time for corrupt, bribing, stupid jerks (I have stronger words, but cant use them here) like the MoD and it's directorates!

It wasn't listed in the PULLEEMS document (dated August 2003) in March 2003 when I originally applied (at the age of 16). It wasn't until September 2006 that it was listed which they used as a means to an end. I believe that there is more to this rejection than meets the eye and I have a basic understanding of the way these goons work, the word corruption comes to mind here. ever since, I have been fighting with them, and they still haven't put it on the list of automatic bars from entry, how incompetent can they get? Their own doctors are incompetent too, using the descriptions of my character I mentioned in my first post in this thread. I accused the MoD of bribing both a County Court Judge and a High Court Master and I stand by my words. Think of it like this, if the government were willing to offer the Taliban billions of pound of tax payers money and for the record, it would have run into billions of £, what makes it so far fetched the they would offer the said judges a few thousand each to rule in the MoD's favour?
In relation to the U.S Army, I have checked the entry medical criteria, and it appears that Asperger's Syndrome is not listed in the medical document that I obtained from them 2 or 3 months ago. Thus my conclusion would be that, if you are rejected, it would be because you have Asperger's far more seriously than those who don't.
For those who wanted a little background...
I was in care from the age of 4 to the age of 18 (officially) that was extended to the age of 21 because of the diagnosis. Some things have happened that I do not wish not to discuss on this forum through privacy, however, I believe that this is the REAL reason the MoD said no to my application, even though they will not admit it, the documents that were supplied to me in 2008 from them prove this beyond doubt, such information was clearly used as further ammunition, twisted and distorted to mean something different, and when confronted with the facts, they oddly went all quiet, which eventually led me to the courts to seek an injunction and damages for a number of different things, including: Slander, defamation of character, libel, unfair treatment, prejudice, breach of human rights, and making absurd claims in relation to my character.
Although the judges and the Master appeared to understand my case and stated that if I were not out of time, I would have likely been awarded damages in excess of £100k, it was unfortunate that the Limitation Act of 1980 applied, that explains why they strung it out as long as possible and got away with the damage they caused to both my life, and the chances of obtaining a job.
To finalise: The MoD and is directorates are corrupt, they know nothing of Asperger's and instead of researching it, prefer to make absurd assumptions and use such absurd assumptions to cause harm to the applicant.
My personal advice to anyone who is considering joining the British Army who has Asperger's Syndrome is to consider another career, as you will only face the same treatment I have over the last 8 years.

It seems strange that it is not mentioned on the list of conditions that may stop you joining:
http://www.army.mod.uk/join/20157.aspx
Looking at the list depression also seems to be missing (serious depression would be far more of an issue than aspergers).

Frankly, a lot of you are dealing with this the wrong way. Instead of disclosing autism you could simply lie about it to get in. The military does background checks that aren't accurate. Even then if they find out they refer you to a medical doctor to see if the condition would affect your ability to shut up about classified information. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if around one-third of all service members lied about something to get in. Look up Jared Gunther, Joshua Fry or go to these links (http://forum.freeadvice.com/military-law-92/asperger-disorder-military-fraudulent-enlsitment-503950.html and

Just a quick update for the masses:
I had the case heard in the Royal Courts of Justice on 4th October 2011.
I lost the case, but, the Master that heard my case seemed to understand that I felt I had no choice with my options but to file in the RCOJ.
Although I felt I had a case both morally, and legally, the Master stated that the case was time barred even though there were legitimate, attenuating circumstances for the delay in the filing of the case, i.e the bureaucracy and corruption in the MOD.
I am dissatisfied with the result, needless to say, I did not get the result I wanted which was to have the MoD review it's non-existent policy on Asperger's. Although I failed to get that order, I feel betrayed by the British Government and always will do, the reason I am making plans to leave for the USA, and enlist in the U.S Army as there is no policy there on Asperger's.
I am hopeful I can do this in the near future, perhaps 2 or 3 years when I get my Green Card.
Thanks to the OP for starting this topic and to all who contributed.
I wouldn't be to sure on the US Army and aspergers, when I went to register they said I couldn't saying I had autism, and autism is denied from registering or the draft. Anyways, lucky me, I don't wanna risk my life for some idiot being "macho" and btw i'm 6'1
edit: what I mean by macho is the idiot stereotype of pumping iron, women and wine...

What's the Arrse website?
Probably not a wise choice as the Anglians do have a rep for bullying.

My RSM was autistic. He had an obsession with shiny boots; hundreds of pairs of them had to be lined up in 3 perfect lines at every opportunity. He also had an amazing memory that encompassed hundreds of names and faces and past transgressions. Like many autistic people he had several personal idiosyncrasies; like beginning every sentence with 'Eh!' or 'Oi!' and going about everywhere with a silly polished stick. His autistic mind functioned in a rigid and entirely self contained fashion, that made interaction with other people problematic, and left no room for compromise or shades of grey. His ritualistic and compulsive behaviour severely disrupted the lives of the people around him.

There does seem to be a lot of discrimination in the British Army as per the Arrse website.
Good luck with the case. Out of interest, what Regiment/Corps and what trade did you intend to join?
