When you are saying i did well, are you sure you didn't accidentally rate me by the girls standards while I am a boy? If I was in girls team I would have won. But on boys team I was 29-th out of approximately 100 people or so. So it is above average but not too impressive. At the same time, however, I WAS in fact the best on MY team. But that was because my team was really bad -- the second person after me on my team was somewhere around 50 out of 100. My team was second from the last among other teams; so in this respect I was lucky -- since my team was really bad it allowed me to be the top on my team.
When I said I did the best out of certain age range I was talking about half the marathon -- which has nothing to do with the 3 mile thing I was teling you my time about. So I am more long distance person. Thats why on half the marathon i did so well but on 3 miles not that well.

Well done though, sounds like you did really well. I'm not very fast so haven't done any shorter distances, definitely couldn't do 3 miles in 17 minutes though, more like 30! Ran 4 miles and walked 7 today though

I don't remember my time in half the marathon -- it was 1995. The one thing I remember though is that I was the best out of age group of 15-25 or something like that; but unfortunately they they didn't have such group instead they had 15-33 group and someone who was 33 apparently did better than me, so I didn't get a prize.
I DO however remember the time I had in high school cross country team -- my very best time for 3 miles was 17 min and 5 sec. But that was only once. All the other times I was doing around 18-19 minutes and then I also had a couple of bad times with 20 minutes.
Did you ever run 3 miles? What was your time?

I'm rubbish on a treadmill, keep getting scared I'll fall off! But where I live, there's a lot of hills so I get some resistance there. I'm not a fast runner at all, was way behind most people in the half marathon (which suited me fine!) and I like running on my own so it doesn't matter. I really like being outside

I run a lot on a manual treadmill. Not much anywhere else. I really don't know what I'm capable of anymore, as the treadmill is A LOT different than running on the sidewalk.
The treadmill says that I run at about 2.5 MPH and I get out of breathe at about 9-10 minutes
24 minute miles YEAY!
But there is a whole lot of resistance in that run.

Post subject: Running
Anyone else into running? I developed it as an interest last year, and now I'm obsessed with it- run every day and read running books/magazines/articles all the time. I did a half marathon in November and I'm doing another one in September, and maybe a full one in October. I love it, it's great for releasing stress and 'resetting' my mind after a day at work.
