It seems everything we see, touch, taste, smell, or feel is achieved via the medium of electromagnetic energy. And we still cannot say what that is. So if we cannot understand the medium by which we view reality, then we have no idea what reality is. I like the multiverse theory because it explains why there seems to be so much empty space in the universe. I also like the idea of higher dimensions (like 4 dimensional space), and that at the moment we are limited to only seeing 3D space, but this thing called time is actually moving us through a 4D space but we can only ever see snapshots of 3D space at any one moment.
I wish reality were more perfect. It's kind of selfish to say that, but I don't like suffering and I don't exactly know how the world will acheive peace, but I feel that once peace is truly acheived than the meaning of life will be revealed to us.

Reality is in the eye of the beholder. Whatever one perceives as "reality", is reality. One person sees it one way and another sees it completely different. I don't believe in "alternate" views of reality. What would you gauge as "actual" reality if there was an alternate view? The planet has billions of unique human brains and each one has a different view on reality. Since no two humans are identical, than no two perceptions on reality are identical. Reality is in the eye of the beholder.

ahaha I'm kind of trying to mess with ridiculous extremes of music to see if I can like send direct impulses to the brain or something. I don't really ascribe to whether it'd be something real or some kind of drug effect though
also sometimes I feel like my synesthesia is some kind of sensory input coming in from another dimension but I mostly just think it's really strong. I'm interested though in what exactly music is doing to the brain

Parallel universes really exist so it is not just schizophrenic delusion.

I am of the belief that there is no perceivable ultimate reality. Our brains all have biases and sensory limitations but the vast majority of us believe that our reality is correct. What really happens outside our minds in the environment is likely very near a perfect average of all of our perceived experiences combined.
Reality is relative.
As for theories of what all this is.. I want to start firstly by saying I do not believe anything. I do not know anything. Perhaps this is the line between psychosis and myself?
I think purely in "what if" statements.
What if.. our universe was a giant computer.
There is a "binary" layer with opposite values. Perhaps that is spin or some kind of value in the quantum state.
There is quantum mechanics, acting as a probability layer to the universe. This regulates what is probable and not (everything is possible, some things are just more probable than others.) Perhaps, like Schrodinger's cat, all of the potential possibilities actually occur simultaneously and instantly all of the lesser probable universes vaporize as they are not seen??
There is the environment layer which is without mind or observations, but observing minds are important and build the reality. Because the act of seeing and being seen is the only way to progress time. And time is change so observation creates reality.
Or maybe... The entire conceivable universe is in the atom of a rock somewhere. Countless universes in every atom creating a massive multiverse within itself. If you go small enough, things begin to get larger... If you go large enough, things begin to get smaller... Like a spherical geometric pattern of reality.
So there is quantum level and macroscopic level. Go smaller than quantum level and things become macroscopic. Go larger than macroscopic and things become quantum but it's coiled into itself in a loop of feedback.
Make sense?

Impossible to know, impractical to obsess over.
It's 12 cm long, blue ink, red casing. A Bic. That'll do.
I wonder what colour the ink is without human brain impulses or a yellow sun.
Colour is a property of light, so, it's not really that the ink is blue at all. It's the light that reflects off it that has the colour. It only has the
potential
to reflect light that's in the wavelength of blue, but it has no colour itself. In other words, everything except light is perfectly black (no colour).
If a tree falls in an unlit forrest, is it really perfectly black?

I think depersonalization and derealization made my aspergers much worse. It's like I didn't have it before I got sick.

I was thinking about this the other day. I wish I had the physics background. I'm very good with math but I know nothing about physics.

I developed depersonalization and derealization after smoking a lot of strong marijuana. I've had a lot of the thoughts about reality. It's pretty crazy. I don't have schizophrenia for sure but I think people with Asperger's can have similar symptoms. When my depersonalization and derealization was really bad I thought I lived in a holographic universe or matrix and started losing it.

We do.
Well, not necessarily from
everybody
else, but between two individuals they may be perceiving the same color differently in their head. Assuming neither person has any observable difference detectable on an objective test (such as the
Ishihara Colorblind Test
), there could still be differences in perception that we wouldn't be able to tell unless we were able to see from another person's brain/eyes. Perhaps one person's red-sensitive cone cells (in their eyes) are stronger than the other person's. They might see all colors shifted slightly to the red side of the visible spectrum (the first person might see a hue in-between yellow and green as more yellow, but would still call it yellow-green since their perception of yellow is actually slightly orange, if compared to the second person's point of view.)
That's pretty interesting. I know that there are colour blind people but I didn't realize what you just mentioned but it makes sense.

-Sometimes I wonder if after we die we go on to a different life on a different planet. The life we're living now is only our first life basically. Maybe it's like a computer game and this is just level one and after we die we go on to level 2 and it gets harder.
-Or maybe we're just one big science experiment to a bunch of giants somewhere in our universe almost like The Truman Show except the whole world is a reality show for someone else in the universe
Keep going! I love you ideas!
I decided for the computer game one, I'm going to make my own religion and turn it into a cult with my friend. We're on level 1 right now and after we die we go to level 2. A glitch might happen in your life and you'll get "frozen" between level 1 and level 2 and you'll stay that way forever being able to see everything but not being able to move a muscle or talk. That could be "hell." I'm going to make my own bible and everything.
Just kidding.....maybe.......

I don't have any alternative reality theories, but I do find it fascinating to hear about what others think...

I'm fine most days, just spend my time ignoring non-existent people or trying to convince them they don't exist. Hard to do, since they won't accept the truth.
I'd like to say, "That must be so frustrating", but considering that you don't believe I'm real, I'm not sure how much that could help you.
Though if we (other people) were to believe it, what difference would it make? Would it benefit my artificial life? I doubt it would give me the opportunity to turn my life into something "real"... I'd like to know, out of curiosity. Is your urge to convince others due to us having some sort of benefit if we realized it, or do you just want somebody to agree with and understand your side (despite our opinions being nothing but an illusion anyway?)

I would sure hope not. I got quite a lucky leg-up in this "level" by being born in a developed country. All those babies out in the third world that die shortly after birth likely wouldn't be able to imagine the next level getting harder after that.
