OK I am an Aussie.. I am born in Canberra (1961), I moved to the Netherlands (1963, have Dutch parents, so genetically Dutch) came back to Australia in 1982..

So:
1 I am an Australian with a funny accent,
2 I am a Dutchman, that happened to be born in Australia !
And yes I have a dual citizenship :D

G'day, g'day, g'day!
I am a strange thing that happened on the way to the forum.

I registered here some years ago when I was completely new to all this computer/internet stuff, just before our new (secondhand) computer blew up. Fair dinkum! Sparks, smoke and noise!

Anyhow, we went without a computer that I didn't know how to work until I had forgotten where I'd tried to find some similarly strange friends.

Just yesterday I got an email saying that Wrongplanet had been updated. It twigged something in the dark recesses of decaying memory so I came to look at what had once been interesting.

Anyhow*, I live in (was born in, as were a couple of generations of forbears) the wheat belt of "Worstraya" (take Western Australia, leave out a few syllables, and run the remainder together with a lazy tongue and get "Worstraya").

Since then I have had some experience at internet forums. I look forward to some interesting disagreements with some that seem to imply that fashionable opinions are always right.

Don't bet on it. I can't be relied on to run with the band wagon. I practically own the banned wagon.

Another Melbournian here. Although I do have dual citizenship with Arrakis.

Anyone interested in attending this on the 30th December.

Melbourne Aspies girls afternoon tea

Tried to kick off an Ozzie/Kiwi support site but have had little interest so far. Might close it down if no interest.

Nice t' meecha, Rev. Mo.
I think I'll pass on the afternoon tea invite... even if I shave I think someone will guess that I'm not really on the guest list.

Yair... support groups... I'm not a big fan. I don't even want to be a denatured odd bod cum pretend neurotypical. I don't mind being a bit weird according to the commonplace.

But the Kiwis always get their vowels mixed up (one practically indistinguishable from another). Worstraya to them is translated as farthest Western parts of the West Island of New Zealand but the word and pronunciation has no equivalent in Kiwi.

Nice to meet you Alison, you might see me here from time-to-time. Haven't done any serious "foruming" in a few years since going to Facebook so I'm gonna see how I go here :)

Hah, I've never actually heard anyone use "West Africa" in common talk :)

"West Africa" is fairly common now that Ebola is mentioned in the "news".
