Hi Laura,

Welcome.

Are you from NY?

What are your "special interests?"

Sorry I'm not from NY, I'm from London uk. My special interest right now is bicycles. Everything about them from riding and fixing, to collecting and restoring. I have a blue Raleigh bike form mid seventies that I found dumped in a bush and it has lasted longer than any of the modern bikes I've had!
What's your special interest?

You would love those bicycles from the 1880s: the ones with the gigantic front wheel and teensy-weensy back wheel.

Yes I would. We call them Penny-Farthings. This is because the front wheel looks like a big old penny and the rear wheel is like a tiny farthing.

unfortunately not. They are becoming quite a rare sight now. But one will turn up on ebay. Eventually, I hope!

I would think one would have to make adjustments.

But: people in the 1880's certainly did.
