Now I have the courage to post. :D

I'm 18 (19 in less than two weeks!)--diagnosed with a hodge-podge of things including ASD, a couple of learning disabilities, anxiety, and a rare genetic syndrome called Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome (BWS).

I love to read, write, learn languages, and do music things.

I'm a student at my local community college, where I am getting my associate's degree in Liberal Arts.

Hello all! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

auntblabby, yes, I guess you could call me a musician--although since last year (apparently I joined this site waaay back in 2011, when I was very much a violinist) I have been trying to move away from my identity as a musician exclusively. Many people began to know me as "the violinist." That identity began to bother me as my sister decided that she was going to become a professional violinist herself. I think I wanted to be known by some other label, stressing that I am not my sister. And so now, though this may sound strange, I think of myself more as a "person who loves music" than a "musician."

I don't play the violin as often these days, and I don't approach it with as much joy as I used to--but I love to sing and play the piano and listen to music. In short, I live and breathe music. :)

Kiprobalhato, I'm glad I've found someone with similar interests already! I've never tried creating an actual language, though. That's quite the endeavor. :D

it is a good thing to have musical talent [or any kind of talent, for that matter].

i used to take mandatory violin lessons in the fourth and fifth grade, that was rather fun but i have not touched a violin since. i hear, all day violin playing by kids in my neighbors house, so i guess the program is still going on.
