Hello, I've just joined this forum after a bit of a personal epiphany followed by some private study, and what looks to be a possible self-diagnosis. I am not sure though. I am really looking for some advice and guidance, particularly relating to how to deal with workplaces/hierarchy, something I've consistently struggled with throughout my life. These are my scores:

Neurodiverse score: 146/200
Neurotypical score: 71/200

At 27 years old, I'm nevertheless pretty new to this, and have never had any support from anyone as a result. So it will be nice to finally get that here.

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

I found that using Tony Attwood's Asperger's Syndrome (AS) characteristics list http://www.tonyattwood.com.au/index.php/about-aspergers was helpful in comparing and listing my own.

You might also want to investigate the University of Cambridge Autism Research Centre Autism Auotient (AQ) screening test and its core factor tests (EQ, FQ and SQ).

Finally, have you ever been diagnosed with any disorders that are also known to be AS factors (depression, GAD, SAD, OCD)? If so, they could be considered evidence in your self-diagnosis, too.

Hi, AspieUtah - I have SAD and used to have OCD as a child. Manic depression is also in my family, although I don't think I have it (I have a penchant for depression/extreme meltdowns, however).

There are a few anomalies. Or perhaps they are simply traits that run in contrast to the stereotype. Ie, I have a strong creative streak, and am an excellent writer due to a very powerful imagination. Much of my writing is typically 'aspie' however in that it is very introverted, and thematically related to isolation. I very rarely attempt dialogue.

Funny, but if you really want to know what I think, ask me over email. I can't speak it aloud, it doesn't come out right. Never did.

To cathylynn - Interests: very specialised. I'm used to people not caring (even after they have asked), but I do dynamic simulation (if you know what that is?). I design zero carbon buildings using virtual software.
