After just over a week worrying whether or not I was accepted into the photography course...I got an email this morning from the course provider telling me to ring her.
I don't normally like using phones...but was wanting to know whether I got in or not so much, that I just rang anyway.

She asked me a few questions about my previous photography experience, how I will pay if I get accepted etc.

At the end of the call, she told me that i've been accepted and the student workbooks/course instructions should arrive within a few days!
Finally.....I'm going to do something with my life.

congratulations, and best wishes for your course. You can post some of your stuff that isn't included in your portfolio to show us all how wonderful a photographer you are?

Well...I haven't actually got a portfolio yet. But yes, I will post some photos eventually.
