Some more perspective on this Kony BS.

Drone attacks by BushBama have killed over 168 children (all of them terrorists, I'm sure):
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... paign.html

"More than 250,000 children are reported dying every year of malnutrition alone in Afghanistan."
http://www.rawa.org/child-5.htm

Let's not forget Iraq:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Iraq_War

Kony is a SAINT compared to BushBama! I'd rather give Kony a toast than acknowledge Obama as a member of my species. I dare anyone here to say something about Kony which in any way, shape, or form approaches the degree of misery BushBama has inflicted on children.

Give me a break. Kony 2012 is pure facepalm.

I'm at the point where I don't want the USA going into any more wars. We have a habit of letting people that are far wores then the last person come into power.

I will put it this way is it bad in Syria? Yes but what reason is there for the UN, NATO, or US to go there? Do we know who we are helping? I look back and start to see that we should never have gone into Iraq or Afghanistan. Also if we are going to help people we need to know.

A) Who it is we are helping? and Why?
B) What is the game plan?
C) How many people are we sending over?
D) What will we do after the fact?

This video is freaking dumb. Why the hell is this moron being such a jerk to the kid. Leave the poor kid alone.

I don't trust anyone who creates such propaganda. I don't care if the cause is legit. I'm not giving my money away to such a blatant media whore.

Let's talk about the issue and not just try to manipulate the emotions of people.

Anyways, I couldn't watch the whole video.

You guys are aware of recent news regarding Jason Russell the director of this documentary who was found running around naked and doing the you know what right? His family says he was just dehydrated and exhausted which I think is complete rubbish. There's a video of the incident and I have to say, I feel like such an idiot for falling for this video. Anyway here's a link to recent news if you didn't catch it.

Well, it's now official. He is either a media whore or he is mentally ill.

If he is mentally ill then I have some sympathy. Otherwise I do not.

Well intentioned or not, they are bringing something that has been going on for a long time to light.

The sad thing about it is, most people will never look further than what is put in front of their faces and therefore this campaign will never address the long term underlying issues that have created this situation in the first place.

Until you address the issues going on with natural resources in that region (oil, gas, gold, diamonds, cobalt, coltan, copper tin etc) none of this is going to stop and another person like Kony will appear to profit from smuggling, slavery, sex trafficking, child soldiers, kidnapping, arms dealing as well as things like natural resources which is what lights and fuels these conflicts in the first place. The fact that the Ugandan army has been implicated in these activities along with the Rwandans and have been smuggling natural resources out of the Congo only add to the complexity of the situation.

im glad the overall reaction of people seems to be one of scepticism. the whole thing was just paternalistically racist. it was all white mans burden, the US should intervene and help these black passive victims. worse than that it was the US army should intervene- they were advocating another iraq or afghanistan! whats funny about it was that kony isnt even in the country, neither are his 300 followers who were a bigger problem ages ago. why do outsiders suddenly care? it is also funny that oil was discovered there a few months back. when you talk about this to people and mention oil theyre all like oh oooiiiilll thats what its about. and george bush supports this. if that isnt a warning i dont know what is. ugandans dont react well to this. was having a conversation with a guy from there today because he saw me carrying a magazine with this article:
http://www.sa.org.au/index.php?option=c ... Itemid=386
we got into a conversation about it during which he noted the rection of ugandans to it was totally negative.
