spam (spăm) n.

Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail.

Or in this case, posts.

12 Spams of Christmas
-Original lyrics by Dave Nelson

On the twelfth day of Christmas, the spammers sent to me:
Twelve untrue rumors,
Eleven bulk e-mailers
Ten ads for Viagra,
Nine weight loss programs,
Eight investment bankers,
Seven barred attorneys,
Six extremists ranting,
Five web site rings!
Four MLMs,
Three cheap warez,
Two Stupid Jokes.
And an ad for pornography.

I hope the add wasn't disguised as something innocent, such as:

"Like Kids? Like Horses? Like Volunteering?"

I have the Spamalot soundtrack.

It's awesome.

((I forget whether I mentioned that on this thread yet. if I did it's even better because then this is truly spam and not just bragging))

Spam is huge in Hawaii. You should see the selection at the local walfart. You can get a deluxe breakfast platter at any McDonalds here that includes two scoops of white rice, a slice of spam, a slice of portugese sausage and scrambled eggs. They also make "spam bombs" which are basically huge sushi rolls of rice topped with a slice of spam and encircled by seaweed. They have them at every 7-11.

The story of why spam is so big here apparently has to do with WWII. There were a lot of GI's that ended up in Hawaii, on their way home, and I guess spam was one of the things that was in abundance.

i feel a little ill...

"two scoops" and "spam" should never be used in the same sentence... I can only think of spam ice cream now.

Yet strangely fascinated. I have never eaten spam, and as such it holds an almost mystical place in my life.

My father grew up in Philadelphia- they have a "food" called scrapple. How it can be eaten is beyond me.

Thank you so much for the enlightenment, a bit of knowledge about Spam and Hawaii may prove a conversation stopper some day!

What if I said to you all:

"head cheese"

A list of things to shout when you run around randomly punching people on the street:

"I AM AN IDIOT!"

"I HAVE SEVERE SOCIAL PROBLEMS!"

"WHY WON'T YOU BE MY FRIEND?!"

"I LIKE PEARS!"

My plan to change the world: People should punch each other regularly whenever they exchange words. Each line spoken would also be delivered with a punch. That way, people would rarely speak unless they had something REALLY important to say!
