It's good to drink de-caf coffee every now and then for at least a few days. It makes your tolerance go down.

I would recommend one either to drink normal coffee, or avoid the product altogether. Decaf coffee has been chemically processed, into something very unnatural, and, if you ask me, we consume enough chemicals already...

I can't have much caffeine because of my hand tremors. I can't do fine craftwork with my hands jerking around everywhere, so I've settled on a milder mix of decaf and caf beans, and assuage any inclination toward guilt over chemical poisoning with the knowledge that the beans are fair trade, and I buy organic grain products so I have less preservatives in my system than the average person.

Coffee, for me, is pretty much the solution to every ailment or problem.

Headache? Coffee.
Tired? Coffee.
Thirsty? Coffee.
Bored? Coffee.

Depending on the time of day, coffee has quite a positive effect on me, at least internally. Seeing as I usually drink coffee alone, I can't really say if it helps socially. I do drink quite a lot of coffee, and whenever I can't drink it for a day it has a rather negative effect on me. So I suppose it is not unreasonable to say I'm addicted to coffee...

Very occasionally, I can get overcaffeinated and that makes me plain angry. I want to jump out of my skin but I can't. Usually that happens if I haven't eaten enough and then consume a coffee beverage.

Coffee is by far my favorite beverage. I feel that I can get more things accomplished when I've had a cup or two. It makes me somewhat jittery, but nothing too major.

I have noticed lately that coffee has been giving me severe acid reflux...Probably not a good sign..

In what way is coffee harmful (assuming that it is not consumed in excessive amounts)?

A good cup of coffee and an occasional pipe full of tobacco are among the blessings of life.

I have panic attacks so I can't drink coffee, even though I'm on meds, I can maybe drink a cup or two a month....but YEAHHH the effects are seriously like mood changing, and confidence boosting. I turn into the BEST version of myself, and I can get SOOO much done during the time I'm under the caffeine influence...LOL and I seem more sure of myself and what I can do. and I'm more talkative and friendly....like I used to be, pre panic disorder.

Actually, coffee puts me right to sleep. If I have a cup of coffee at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, next thing I know, I'm completely zonked until 5. I've never really notice much "stimulant" affect from it.

I only have coffee maybe once or twice a week. I drink a few cups of black tea (English style, with milk)every day, and it doesn't really seem to affect me physically, other that giving me the general feeling of satisfaction that I've had a nice cup of tea. It just "hits the spot". Tea has about a third of the caffeine as coffee (from what I remember of the chart on the side of the Tetley box).

Someone mentioned ADHD. I've never been tested for that, and am definitely NOT hyperactive, by any stretch of the imagination, but other than that I meet a lot of the ADD criteria. For whatever that's worth.

I thought the same thing but yesterday heard about inattentive ADHD - http://www.goaskmom.com/
I can really relate to the first few lines on that site. Maybe you could too.

Here's another one:

I don't feel so bad about being a poor student at school now.

Oh, those things absolutely are like me! I'm really not sure it they would have described me before the age of 7, though. No teacher ever commented about me being disorganized, but back in those days, teachers didn't pay attention to students that way. I got mostly A's (until high school, when they started expecting us to organize, plan, take notes, do homework, do projects, keep track of 6 different classes, fend for ourselves at lunch...then I got C's and D's.)
