I used to go to the gym and everyone said how huge my muscles were. i left the gym cause i ran out of money and now after nearly a year i have gotten skinny and lost loads of weight.

is it common if you have AS to have low muscle mass because i come from a family were most of the males are strong and muscular.

Mind you i can do 200 pushups still.

My muscle is named Guido. If I need somebody's attitude adjusted, he does good work. Kneecaps and fingers are his specialty.

I don't think your issue is AS related. If you were trained up to a high level, muscle mass diminishes rapidly when you stop training.

200 push ups? That's crazy. I'll bet not 1 in 1000 can do that. How long does it take? In sets or no pausing?

I'm a stickler for form. Straight line from toe to head. No dropping your head down. At the bottom, arms have to bend to at least 90 degrees, (shoulders level with or lower than the elbows). Arms fully extended at the top.

I'm only up to 25.

LOL. It's A LOT harder that way. But the full range of motion gives you a much better workout. I can only do 3 or four with my hand right under my face instead of shoulder width apart.

I do 3 sets of pushups/crunches. The crunches let my arms rest. I don't max out the push ups on the first set. You want the last set to be the hardest and if you burn out on first set your done. Right now I'm doing 22, 20, and 20. Crunches are my time not count, about 60 seconds per set. I hope to be up to 3 sets of 50 push ups by March.

If you REALLY want it check this out:
