Does anyone have any favorite qoutes or such that they repeat to themselves? I sort of like collecting qoutes that can help you keep in the right state of mind. Some of my favorites:

"The unfree will is a mythology, in real life it is only a matter of strong and weak wills" - Nietzsche

"The only sure thing I know about life, is that we are not here to have a good time" - Wittgenstein

"You remind me of someone who is looking through a closed window and cannot make out the strange movements of a passer-by. You cannot see that a storm is raging and it is only with great difficulty that this person is keeping himself on his feet" - Wittgenstein describing how people may view his often odd and eccentric behavior, I think this is a fitting one for aspies.

"Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around" - the movie Vanilla Sky

Anyone else have some favorites they would like to share?

I found this in a Boulder T-shirt shop (and bought the shirt):

"You laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at you because you're all the same."

Live like there's no tomorrow and eventually there will be no today.

My housemate loved that one.

Here's another one from Nietzsche:

Friedrich Nietzsche wrote:
Supposing truth is a woman—what then? Are there not grounds for the suspicion that all philosophers, insofar as they were dogmatists, have been very inexpert about women? That the gruesome seriousness, the clumsy obtrusiveness with which they usually approached truth so far have been awkward and very improper methods for winning a woman’s heart? What is certain is that she has not allowed herself to be won—and today every kind of dogmatism is left standing dispirited and discouraged. If it is left standing at all! For there are scoffers who claim that it has fallen, that all dogmatism lies on the ground—even more, that all dogmatism is dying (Beyond Good and Evil, Preface).

Oh really? Nietzsche? I always wondered where that saying originated.

This thread needs some Voltaire.

"Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do."

"It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere."

"No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible."

"To hold a pen is to be at war."

"Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day, set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

I was playing World of Warcraft, and at one Point I found myself having uttered the phrase-
"I don't want to know what that kobold was doing with that banana."

Other favorites include-
"Kill it with fire!"
"It's saturday night, I've got no date, a 2-liter bottle of shasta and my all Rush Mix Tape, let's rock." (even funnier because i'm listening to rush as i write this.)
"That glass is twice as big as it needs to be" (in reference to the half full or half empty thingie)
"What is a turnip? A miserable little pile of starches!"
"Your words are harsh!" (a very very very very very very very very in joke)

And Finally

"What part of ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn don't you understand?"

A few of my favorites from Groucho:

I never forget a face, but in your case I'll be glad to make an exception.

I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it.

Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.
