I'm learning ASL now.

My parents say that never had a "mama dada" stage; that I just went straight into complete sentences. That said, I generally didn't speak much compared to kids my age. Now, I speak rather poorly because I didn't really practice.

I went straight into complete sentences as well, but I don't know at what age.

I started speaking almost normally, but rarely--selectively mute my whole childhood into adulthood. And now after a few years of trying my hardest to succeed at being a verbal person and getting really discouraged, I am going quiet again.

I can't speak well, I struggle for words that mean what I'm thinking. Until I can make a picture come out of my mouth, speaking will not be an effective or comfortable form of communication for me. Lesson learned.

Writing is better. Drawing is even better than that. Telepathy would be useful for me. Maybe then my family would understand me.

I started speaking at a normal age I'm told, the first thing I said was jibberish over and over I would say,

"Goobledee-gobbledee-gobledee-gobledee"

I started talking at age 2 saying the word "car" and anything having to do with cars.
