people say Aspies are dead to emotion, but i ask you all this.

...have you ever been listening to a song so beautiful you start crying?

i have three. "All Is Full of Love" by Bjork, "Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead, and "Into the West" by Annie Lennox & Howard Shore.

music has made me cry before especially when I was younger and I had to stop listening because I didn't like that emotion.

Now I listen to those songs again and don't cry. One in particular was The Sweetest Perfection by Depeche Mode.

"brothers in arms" by dire straits is the only song that can choke me up. Mostly on account of the guitar work.

Other songs that can touch me are "four strong winds" by Ian tyson, as its about my home province.

While I certainly experience emotional blunting as I've heard it called, this is mostly in relation to other people and their worlds. In mine, there is a whole range of deep emotions, some of which that do not have names.

I haven't started crying, because I don't cry. But I have definitely experienced that same strong emotion. This is usually due to the images in my imaginations, as I am constantly daydreaming and like to add soundtracks.
Here are some of mine:

Cluster One - Pink Floyd

Blue Monday - Orgy

Under - Brian Eno

Assimilate - Skinny Puppy

Where I end and You Begin (The Sky is Falling) - Radiohead

Fight - The Cure

Deathzone -Apocalyptica

The Saints are Coming - U2

United '94 - Psychic TV

Xa - C17h19no3

Currently my favorite albums that I listen to over and over are Mythmaker by Skinny Puppy, Head Over Heels by the Cocteau Twins, The Almost Ambient Collection by Kill Switch Klick and Eisbrecher by Eisbrecher.

When I sing "Morning Has Broken" tears sometimes well up in my eyes a wee bit, partly because it was sung at my dear grandma's funeral.

If i'm in my strange, melancholy mood, a few songs can get be on the edge of crying.
For some reason, the saddest song in my opinion is "The Joker" by the Steve Miller Band. I know it isn't sad....but it just sounds so sad to me for some reason...just the tune or something. I don't really know...

Some others: Day After Day by Badfinger, Hello, Goodbye by the Beatles, Seemann by Rammstein, Ruby Tuesday by the Rolling Stones, and the Wonder Years theme, and Do It Again by Steely Dan.

That was originally by new order.

Lindas Piano, by King Einstien. I got that on a CD that came in the mail when i was about 11. I've used it as my "cry" song ever since.

Nice! She's one of my all time favourites.

Working Class Hero - John Lennon

As soon as you're born they make you feel small
By giving you no time instead of it all
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool
Till you're so f*cking crazy you can't follow their rules

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV
And you think you're so clever and class less and free
But you're still f*cking peasants as far as I can see

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

There's room at the top they are telling you still
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill
If you want to be like the folks on the hill

A working class hero is something to be
A working class hero is something to be

If you want to be a hero well just follow me
If you want to be a hero well just follow me

Oh yeah, music puts me in touch with my emotions more than anything else...When I'm stressed or upset or tired, I always listen to a certain CD that lets me cry and reflect. By the end of it, I always feel calm again. The other night I went to a concert of the band who put out this album, and when they played one of the songs from it, I started crying again (my friend patted me on the back, haha). But I actually enjoy crying from music...

There is a song by Pink Floyd, Come Back to Life, I believe, that just brings me to tears...
