I would review the material, make a list of any terms I need to know/questions I need to be able to answer (without the answers next to said terms/questions), go over them once, writing the answers in by hand, and then review the blank (unanswered) list repeatedly until I can answer (in my head, not writing it down this time--takes too long) everything with confidence. If there is something involving labeling a picture, I would get a blank copy of the picture and practice labeling it until I can do that with confidence as well.
But I tend to go overboard. Got good grades, though, so do with that what you will.
