The older you get the less humiliating it will become, trust me.
True. I am 41 and most people assume I am in my twenties. I am very happy with this.

At my recent temp job the people I worked with assumed I was still a high school student, several of them made jokes that involved my apparent youth. When I told them my age, in my last week, they were all pretty shocked, especially another intern who now found himself to be the youngest and the recipient of the jokes.

Generally I find it amusing and can have some fun with it, but when people talk down to me I quickly tell them my age.

I get asked what I'm taking in college by a lot of people. I ask them what they mean and they've all said, "You're 22, aren't you?" I'm 36. A 22 year old wearing a 60s band T-shirt in 2011. Oh please.

I am often mistaken for a 15-18 year old, though I am 21. Once I was out at night, and the police were called and they asked my friend (in his thirties) if he had a 13 year old daughter! My friend's neighbors actually thought I was a 13 year old girl!

I just turned 26, and am still regularly being asked what grade I'm in. The average guess is 15 years old. I have been refused alcohol in PA even with ID. My mom says I'll appreciate it when I'm 40.
