I'm in the process of making a card that describes a few basic things about my AS in case I'm in an emergency and my stress makes my symptoms get worse. Mine has my name, address and a little about the accommodations I need from medical personnel or law enforcement, like why I rock and hit myself, and instructions to not touch me without warning or from behind, and that I may need paper because I lose the ability to speak.

Does anyone else have an emergency card? What's on it? Does anyone have a medical alert tag or bracelet that says they have autism?

If I ever live alone I'll definitely need one.

No, because I have strictly trained myself to act as if I am normal at all times when in public. If I feel something coming over me that I cannot control, I quickly find somewhere to hide by myself, often in a bathroom.

I wouldn't use one.

I think it's not necessary in my case.

I've never seen one, but I did meet a man who wore a small badge on his belt loop explaining his son was autistic.
