I don't see a reason for that, based on post's on this site so many people wish they were normal, well but the point is you never will be! You are born this way! Do you wanna live in a world where all people are perfect and healthy? Not gonna happen, It's part of the evolution. People who are weaker should not suck up to others but live in their own way.

What you just said actually contradicts evolution. If aspies are "weaker" then why are we increasing in numbers? I do not want to turn this thread into an evolution debate, but i see the increase of people with ASD's as evidence against evolution.

Do you really find this to be true? I find about an equal number of Aspies who seem to think themselves special and superior to the NT population, rather than pitying themselves.

You might check some of the posts. We Aspies (w/a lot of other co-morbid stuff) DO have our moods. Some days we feel like Rock Stars, other days we'd like to pull the plug on our existence. ME, for example. Sometimes I think I'm a stone GODDESS. Today, I feel like something the cat dragged in and would like to drive my funky little car off the edge of the Grand Canyon. I don't PITY myself -- I've just had a couple of crappy days is all. So I'm making fun of myself. Does anyone mind if I make fun of myself and don't take myself seriously?

I actually saw a proffesional after suicide attempt almost two years ago, the psyhiatrist diagnosed a deppresion. I was in rehab for three months and there was a psyhologist who arranged sort of like a group where people talk about certain topics. She interviewed me multiple times personally and all what she asked me was what kind of problems do I have. I'm pretty sure she has no idea what autism is.

You both need to take a biology class.

Yeah, I do self pity myself at times. I guess it's natural.

I think its a combination of depression and low self esteem.

I'm in the minority here because I know what to do in order to make myself happy. I'm sure that if everyone had the insight to know how to make themselves happy, NT or autistic than the world would be a much happier place.

Agreed... entropy in the universe is increasing... the opposite of what you would expect according to theory of evolution

To the OP: what makes you think Aspies are weaker than NT's? Weaker how? I think we're just as strong as they are, maybe more so in a few areas. We don't all pity ourselves, but the fact of the matter is that we are living in a world designed for brains different than ours, which is invariably going to make some days hard for us. It's only natural that when we're surrounded by NT's we're going to want to vent our frustrations to people who understand, which is why a lot of frustration boards that may come across as self-pity wind up here.

And Squonk, your comment was both irrelevant to the thread, and not very friendly, maybe the OP doesn't have the money to get an official diagnosis yet, there's no reason to be mean just because some of us can't afford to see a specialist to get our diagnoses confirmed.

this,

the same can be said about thermodynamics in the case of sbarne 3, the word theory also doesnt mean what you think it means or the implication in your sentence would be a non sequiter.

theory in science is proven beyond any reasonable doubt, they can be disproven should conflicting evidence arise but even then the new evidence more often than not only means revisions to parts of such theories, gravity is one of these so called "theories" and you wont find anyone sane doubting that.

the word you are looking for is hypothesis and that in this context is a testable prediction fo a physical phenomena.

@OP

i think there are plenty here that dont feel pity for thesmelves, as another poster mentioned we all have days where we can feel pity but most of the days i personally do not and i think many other have it the same way.
