I'm glad I'm not the only one who paces!

It seems a lot of people do. I think people with anxiety disorders also pace.

I always rock side to side and twist while standing, but not while sitting.

I tend to rock back and forth if I'm sitting cross-legged, or if I'm in a chair that's made of plastic (springboard effect! :D ).

Back in high school the benches in our science lab where we had our bunsen burners were MADE for rocking, I could rock forward, bounce my stomach off the edge of the bench, and do it again and again. Then someone would say "OmG wHaT aRe YoU dOiNg?" and I'd have to stop because I was drawing attention to myself. :(

I also pace back and forward if I'm on the phone, or if I'm waiting for something.

Pun intended. I do rock. I rock the mic, I rock the crowd and I just basically rock. And I also rock back and forth while sitting.

I'm a twister, when standing. Never rocked, I think I would lose my balance and end up throwing myself backwards onto the floor if I tried to rock while standing.

I rock and sway back and forth all the time. No clue how to tell if I do it when walking, lol, but I know for some reason I cannot walk in a straight line and am constantly walking into people, so I wonder if maybe I do a swaying motion somewhat when walking as well.

It soothes me at times, when I'm overly stressed or in an uncomfortable/new situation. At other times I tend to start swaying a lot when I'm excited about something that I'm talking about.

I rock when I'm sitting and standing, and I'm NT. I didn't even know I did it until my husband pointed it out to me. My father has AS, though, and he's a rocker, so I might have learned it from him. My son - on the spectrum - doesn't, however. He sometimes paces when anxious.

I tend to do this at times as a means of wasting time like when I might be in a line at a fast food place or possibly at the bank. I'm sure this makes others think I'm odd as hell but, may it be known in my life I've seen other people whom do things that are way more bizarre than myself.
