Occasionally I find myself really just needing to be held, needing the sensation of having someone's arms around me holding me close, firm.

Tonight my two year old son was just absolutely nuts. He was scream-crying over every little thing. He was having mini meltdowns and tantrums. He had been really good all day so I was perplexed. Finally I went to him, face to face, and said, "What??" He crawled into my lap, head to my chest, and clung to me for dear life. Finally he tucked his arms in front of him (between us) and I kept hugging him. He seems okay now. That felt familiar, I get it.

Anyone else?

Definitely. As an adult, I feel so isolated when I have this feeling. My husband doesn't understand it. Although, on some level, I think that he does. He says all the time that he forgets that I'm just a little girl inside. I'm too big to crawl into his lap and have him wrap his arms around me the way that I need him to, but I still crave it. It's that same feeling that makes me want to go to bed, roll up in the covers and burrow under the pillows. It's the same instinct different satisfier.

I feel like that all the time lately. Needing someone to wrap me up as tight as possible and hug the s**t out of me until I stop shaking. Not a good feeling, especially when in the middle of a gigantic meltdown.

I love being held. nice and tight. I foud this out ,at school I had a teacher that held me tight cause I was just about to atack a fellow student. And to stop me she grabed me and held on. I was in heaven. and did not want her to let go so I just threaten some more and she just held on longer.

this is definately me....
i know when i go to visit my mom, i'll usually try to crawl into her lap...well, it usually means i sit on the floor with my head in her lap, and it's as good as it gets...and usually does the trick. i'll do it with my husband too, but it's not quite the same. something about the whole mommy-thing, i think...
i'm not much on the whole hugging thing, but being held is different...unless it's a good long hug. but i'm picky about who i let hug me.

I think I need it, as long as it is from someone who I have strong feelings for.. Other than that keep away!! lol It freaks me out when people touch me the wrong way anyways.

babies and toddlers can't get enough of it. Kind of universal. I likes a good hug, but even more what it can lead to (with the missus...;)
