Girls want cocky, arrogant guys because whiny, clingy, indecisive, attention-seeking guys are absolutely disgusting to any sane person.

Guys, I have to say that I think, at least as far as many of the women here at WP are concerned, you're all preaching to the choir! Personally, I can't *stand* arrogant men (or arrogant people in general); their "holier-than-thou", "my sh1t doesn't stink" attitudes make me !@#$%^& sick. I want sweet, kind, understanding, tolerant, open-minded guys who can be my friends, first and foremost; that's what I'm looking for in a relationship. I can be a bit "cocky" myself, sometimes - but it's out of silliness and sarcasm. I enjoy playful pranksters, but most definitely NOT @ssholes! :x

The problem is, aspies are predisposed to be hard to find, especially to each other. Things would be a lot happier if we didn't live in a world of neurotypicals.

True. So true indeed.

I hear ya...

Hmm. I wonder if I should start hanging out in libraries? I'm afraid that hanging out on college campuses (while not a student) would be a bit too stalker-ish. :(

Who are you calling *sane*?! I assume you're referring to NT women/people..? And what's wrong with being whiny, clingy, and indecisive, anyway? :P

I assume that whoever wrote that is an NT or someone like Teelaclarke.

I am an aspie (tho' I prefer the term 'person w/ AS'), and I'm not using 'sane' to mean 'neurotypical'.

I know. ANd Teelaclarke called us freaks. And why do you like cocky, arrogant men?

rubbish. i don't want that sort of person either. whilst i am absolutely not interested in the overtly macho, cocky, alpha-male type, i DO want a man who is "manly" enough to make me feel safe. i don't want to have a relationship with a man who wants me to be his mother, or his "master", or his therapist (although i can be all or any of those things, at times, as every relationship is about give and take).

strong women often want stronger men, in my experience.

and can we PLEASE cut this "NT vs AS" crap out, once and for all? it's not a sodding war.

I like girls far more than men. I am a (mostly) straight teenaged male whose screen-name is derived from a fictional 70+ year old Japanese guy.

Agreed. I only wrote my post in the first place to point out a generalized observation and see how other posters would react to the statement. I wanted to get other peoples' opinions on the matter.

I have offended someone. It is best if I shut up.

Hmm. That makes sense - but I don't want a "stronger" guy - I just want my equal. Is that so much to ask? Never mind, don't answer that... :(
