Just noticed facebook has made Timeline compulsory and by 12th march my profile will get converted into Timeline.
Timeline is giving out lot more information like when i got married, when i joined facebook........its even more threatening to me
who cares i dont have anybody i know personally on facebook anyways

I saw that timeline thing on a friend's facebook and didn't like it and found it confusing and don't want it.

I have 5 facebook friends and would probably delete 2 since we never talk on facebook but I don't want them asking me why I deleted them.

I'd delete my facebook and only have it because a real life friend I have that lives in another state convinced me to get one to keep in touch. I barely ever post on mine. I have nothing to post.

Well i have deleted quite a lot of people from my facebook account they never used to interact with me and it seemed waste to have them around.
i dont have any friends on facebook and if i delete the account it wont matter much.

I have about 40 people on facebook, and most of them i know quite well, and i speak with them from time to time, but i have a friend who i know in person, she has about 120 but i never see her talk to anyone because she's too busy with school and her other friends are too busy too, but then again i wonder how someone could maintain contact with over a 100 people :o I think it is oke to have less then like 60 friends on facebook, i never judge people on the amount of ''friends'' they have on facebook, i mean its better to have 5 super good friends/family then a 100 people you barely know right, i mean thats just my personal view :o The people i have on facebook right now are people i've met over the years mostly online and even though they're busy i have bonds with them so i feel no need to delete them even if we can't speak for a long time, anyway like i said thats just my view and opinion, i hope it helps ><

Have a nice day.

Guys need help!

Im trying to use the Facebook list thing. Its fine if I need to post (and I never/rarely do anyway) since I can filter out who can read and who shouldnt. But what if SOMEONE ELSE posts on my wall how do I make sure for instance that:

University listed people's posts can ONLY read university listed people's posts

or Family listed people's posts can only read family posts
etc?

As far as I am aware, you cannot control who posts and reads on your wall. However, you can control whether they are allowed to post on your wall. Personally, if lots of people are doing this i would set it to not allow this and let them message you instead.

I will actually never understand why a site like Facebook became popular. You either make an account and become the North Korea of Facebook or everyone knows everything about your life. There are a few tedious ways of controlling who can see what and who can read what. And even so there are still limitations to that! And what a waste of time trying to decide who should view what! People now start so many fights on Facebook because person A can view pics that person B can't view.

People today now judge you based on what they see on Facebook and what you "Liked" and who your friends are and how many you have. If you don't post any pictures you are considered even if you have better ways of spending your time. Relationships are no longer official unless you post them on Facebook. And people now judge you based on how many friends you have and who is cool or interesting based on that site. And I really don't understand why more and more sites want you to login using Facebook.

Facebook is a waste of time. Im not saying this because I am bitter and barely have any friends on FB while I view the profiles of other people I met in school or college and see how happy their lives are and look at them wasting their time on their walls responding to each other and bonding online and all the happy moments they have with their friends or loved ones. It has no long or short term benefits and its stupid that society puts pressure on people who dont like it.

personally i have one still on there. but i delete it little by little (deactivated right now). i found a website posting saying that facebook is leading people to more of a death sentence after realizing what their main problem really is. people go on for attention and it's not good. google+ makes things your own way and keep out aggravation. there is gonna be something to delete facebook off the web for good. but not right now. it's a manifest in there. like bugs coming in, not good. but suit yourself on your own opinion.

I had made one account for my family, friends and office colleagues i deleted that account today there is setting to permanently delete the account and if we deactivate then the profile still remains but with permanent deletion its gone forever.

There was lot negativity and it was getting painful. If i wished someone happy birthday they will thank all others who wished them but wont thank me back.

My sis in law would delibrately add photos of our cousins visiting them and she knew very well that they wont be visiting me it hurt more.

My office colleagues wont add me and they would add each other and go out socialising and putting up pics so there was no sense in lingering over on facebook like a loser

You can make it so nobody can see your friend list or how many friends you have on Facebook except for yourself.

see that's terrible what's the point of Facebook when you get hurt by others on it. i agree with you. people on there are just ignorant baster-

ads that care about themselves which is kind of pathetic.

I researched it and apparently it's doing so to connect accounts from websites using the same domain. to be honest that's ret*d. well

everywhere you go to sometimes they ask if you have a Facebook. i say ask them back to hear their answer.
