I'm glad you're feeling better. Have you been getting plenty of support from family and friends, as well as getting new medication?

Somewhat. I really don't have friends except online.

Even though we haven't had a lot of interaction, I find this post very jarring. It's no small matter when you consciously considered suicide. I hope the anti-depressants help you recover your peace, and take you to a place where you can find a measure of joy in your life. And I hope you'll face down whatever caused you to feel depressed in the first place.

What about your family, MattShizzle? Do they have some contact with you? You seem to have plenty of people here on WP who care about you, anyway.

Please read up on Temple Grandin's writings about antidepressants and the need for low doses in people with ASD's. I am on a tiny dose and this is better. Normal doses can be FAR TOO strong for us anc can cause all sorts of problems. We have different neurology and grandin writes well on the subject.

good luck .

I'm glad you've got your parents to take care of you at the moment- it would be difficult to be on your own. Do you get along well with them? They must have been very upset by your suicide attempt, especially if it's happened before.

Yeah, we get along. I couldn't live on my own - couldn't afford it and there's a lot of things I can't do.

I'm glad you get along with them. Were they very distressed by your overdose? It must have been a stressful time for them.

Somewhat, but they weren't all that surprised.

Are you still feeling better? And are you being followed up by the hospital for more treatmant and monitoring? I hope you're taking good care of yourself and are doing lots of things to keep yourself feeling calm and positive.

I go to a program Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 2 pm called the "partial hospitalization" program.

I'm glad you've got the program to go to so that you can be monitored and receive support. Do you find it helpful?

Somewhat, just the interaction with people.

One thing that was nice while I was in the hospital (before I was in the mental ward I had to have a person with me 24-7) there was this really, really hot Asian nurse that really catered to me. She was like doing all this stuff for me.

I can imagine some male patients finding it very therapeutic to have a "hot" nurse. :) Interaction with people is really important when you're feeling down- it's a lot better than dealing with things on your own.
