The only person who has ever called me random was someone I knew when I was a young child, and I still don't know why because I don't think I'm random at all. I think that she just didn't understand what I said most of the time.

yes I have, but that's because I make up new sayings on the fly, and instead of taking logical steps, I take logical pole-vaults, but I hate what "random" has become for the 13-year-old population "zOMG monkey waffle penguin cheese of doom! LOL I made a funny random joke on the internet!"

I take great offence to that.

I at least attempt to make a joke or pun that is relevant to the situation.

I'm not the average CoD 4 wielding Xbox 360 maniac. :P

The word "random" in the slang sense was seriously overused when I was in Year 8 (last year). But then it went out of style.

The word random does seem to be overused on non-serious websites. I have even seen it overused in electronics reviews and similar things.

"Epic Fail" seemed to be the trend for Year 9 at our school, but thats going out of style as well.

I expect "Oh snap!" or a similar internet rebuke will be the next trend.

when i was little, we got into insulting each others w the word "jomer", im norwegian, and it means nothing in any language that i know. i remember my mother getting irritated about it, cus she assumed it had sexual connotations :D

People have indeed said that I say "random" stuff from time to time - and I suppose it might seem that way sometimes... except that virtually everything I say is usually completely relevant to the conversation at hand (exactly HOW it's relevant, however, is sometimes not that obvious to someone without access to my brain's somewhat... addled... thought processes :)).

I'd rather be perceived as "quirky" or "interesting", though...

Most "random" can be traced back to it's source. I know someone who seems to talk randomly, we have conversations that begin half way through, simply because we already understand the premises.

Watching people trying to be "random" in a humorous fashion is usually annoying, but sometimes cutting in with some real wit while they're trying to think up their next response is amusing.

I wasn't trying to insult all the 13-year-old population, but just the ones who think "Invader Zim quote = instant randomness and always funny"
