Try posting to Deus Ex forums as well. Those people have a lot more game-specific troubleshooting experience.

I dont have the disk version,I have the steam version and have reinstalled and uninstalled 2 times already.I know it means unsupported but the game is ridden with glitches that the neglected to try and fix so in those cases one most relie on the modding community. That link is mostly for the first game not the sequal.Which is what I am refering to.

I used wordpad in the above example, replace it with the games's .exe.

If that works, you can create a shortcut like this:
cmd /c start "" /Affinity 1 "App.exe"

Then the .exe you used is not the right one. Try searching all the .exe in that game's directory and test one by one which is the game's main .exe. But before that, make sure you've done the XP compatibility mode and DEP exception thing for all those .exe's.

Maybe it's the current path. Check the "Start in" field of the shortcut you normally used to start the game. Let's say it's "C:\Program Files\xxx". In the command prompt before you run start..., run:
cd "C:\Program Files\xxx"

If it's not C:... then you'll also have to change the current drive. Just run "x:", with x being the actual drive letter.
