I've had that happen to me. Sometimes I'm puzzled because I wouldn't know what I did wrong to offend them, but then again - all you can really do is shrug your shoulders and move on.

Sometimes people delete others from their list for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes they just want to share their information with whom they consider "friends" instead of "acquaintances", so they start doing a list culling. So maybe it's nothing personal towards you.

I would be inclined to think so.

I'm not in internet as much as you but I know that's what I do when I get a new address book (an old fashion one: one in paper :) )

I only keep the people who are really present in my actual life.

... If I had to copy again all the peolple who have been present in my life at a time or another but with whom I'm not in touch anymore, it would be too much!

But I do keep some of my old address books: for the souvenir.
I don't think you can do that with FaceBook?

Keep in mind that there is another common reason why former facebook friends do not come up in searches: they may have deleted their facebook account. I find that this happens much more than people realize. In fact, I've done it myself! Here is what concerns me about my experience on facebook: I left it for about a year (which obv resulted in me not showing up as "friends" on all of my former friends' accounts and some of them could have gotten wrong impression from this), but then I decided to reopen my facebook account (so I had zero friends starting out again). I sent friend requests to maybe 50 of my former 500 "friends" or so (as I did not really feel like going back and adding everyone. Most of them were just acquaintances as I had been in a situation for a couple of years in school in which many people knew who I was that I didn't even know personally, and those that I did know I hadn't seen in 7 years anyway). But here's the drawback of what I did--there were 450 or so people that I did not "refriend", and I'm willing to bet that a number of them noticed that I was back on facebook and did not add them (in fact, many of them probably never knew that I was gone for that year anyway, so they probably got the impression that I actually took the time to delete them as a facebook friend! It's possible that some of them may have taken this personally, although I hope this is not the case, b/c it was nothing personal against any of them.)

So the long and short of it is, I wouldn't jump to conclusions if I were you because you don't know what happened. And even if one of your facebook "friends" deleted you, that's pretty lame that they would actually take the time to do this. And you probably don't really want people like that in your life anyway. 8)

Do you post a lot? I've deleted acquaintances who posted a lot of quiz results or did games where I saw updates every time they played a turn, because they were making my friends' updates scroll off too fast.

If you do that, what happens to other friends who might still want to talk to you? They won't be able to find you and they might think you hate them too.

Forget about one person. Block them out of your mind. Or put them on an "I hate you for eternity list", which is what I did to a former friend who did the exact same thing to me. But don't let that affect your relationship with the others. ^_^

Ask around to see if someone knows the reason that person deleted you.

Aw. That's a good point. But the whole thing has left a bad after taste, and this isn't the first time it's happened. Like vomiting up bad stuff when you're sick, I'm just going to have to end this crap.

I know how you feel, and I feel the same way. End this entire incident by forgetting about it, I guess? Drown out the people who dislike you with the people that actually like you. If you said before you'd add the 30 people who would bother talking to you, that means you know 30 people who still want to talk to you. That's certainly better than me.

I have been deleted a few times from friends list on Myspace. Mostly everyone I know is just acquaintance anyway though. It still hurts though as I figured they might want to really be a friend to let me add them. I don't know anyone enough to really call them a friend. I have never really hung out with friends. Recently I have been trying on Facebook and Myspace to get old people I have know to talk to me. I don't think its going over to well with them though.

Why do I have to do 5 times as much work as a normal person to get them to talk to me?

Yeah, I stopped expecting that from people. But when they drop me, and nobody else, I wonder why the Hell I have to endure this rejection. I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong, but after a few hours I won't wonder too much again.
