I did an iq test when I was 13 and national Mensa offered testing in our school. It, however, provided only approximate calculation of IQ. My result was 'over 130' (100th percentile). Personally I think that it is not really valid, since the test was about completing patterns which is something I am really good at.

I also did various internet IQ tests usually scoring somewhere around 125, but must say that these were in english and since english is not my native language I did not understand some questions.

I was administered an IQ test with a purported professional from Mensa in school. It was optional and I thought it would be neat.

My score (I was given a plus or minus 15 range) was remarkably high and the tester made a slightly big deal out of it. I'm actually too embarrassed to tell anybody because I don't think they would believe me.

That being said, I score double-digits (below average) on EQ (emotional quotient) tests.

I would like to say that there will probably be higher bias for high IQs because those with low IQs won't know how to work a computer posibly, or wouldr ather enjoy just feeling/touching etc. something they love.

I've had a few tests, one of them was a clinical test when I was a teenager. If I remember right, I scored around 145. I have trouble conveying my thoughts into words, so most people probably wouldn't know. I do well in Academics though. 8)

Eh, you seem to suggest intentional deception. There are far less insulting ways to explain the higher than typical range of IQs this poll represents. Many of those methods have already been discussed.

I strongly support the one which mentioned that because a high IQ is viewed by some as a status symbol, those with a high IQ are more likely than those with average to low IQs to discuss the issue.

Additionally, those with very low IQs are also less likely to be on the internet discussing anything, let alone what their IQ is.

I have an abnormally high IQ myself (~5 SDs+), and because of the esteem it gives me (I'm not going to lie, I am proud of what I test at) I am far more prone to clicky the thread with the "IQ" in the title than I would be if my IQ was lower. Not that I wouldn’t do so ever, just that I would be less likely to do so.

But if you wish to conclude that this IQ thread has the validity of a typical internet thread (Which I read as; none)...why click on this thread in the first place or hang around long enough to post?

I don't know I am pretty cynical when it comes to people generally...but here on WP I try my damndest to give people the benefit of the doubt and go ahead and assume they are being genuine and honest until I can no longer suspend disbelief otherwise. You certainly don't need to do the same, but it does help if you want to open up honest communication with other posters here if they don't think you automatically assume they are lying.

I am searching for the +rep button, but it must be lost in all the ones and zeros somewhere.

between the 2 I have had Id have to say 75-88 however my neuropsychologist thinks I'm alot smarter, and Iv had specialized tests that work with my brain to prove it(sadly these don't have IQ measured), and I seem to do well in school with proper accomodations of course and get good grades usually.
