If I remember right, last time I ordered Mordin to go through the heat shafts, and he ended up dying. I had Garrus escort people off the ship, but they made it. I had Tali escort another team to get through the base while we went in another way, and her suit got pierced. I remember having had, I think, Grunt do that with another Shepard, and he got killed too. Is there a certain way I have to do this?

Yes, ONLY Tali or Legion will survive the heat shafts to open the door.

ONLY Miranda and Garrus will survive as second team lead

ONLY Samara or Jack will survive as the biotic shield.

Most people will survive escorting, but a few won't. I know Grunt and Samara will as I've sent them myself. I heard from a friend that Mordin dies doing it. Not sure about the rest.

On my first playthrough of suicide mission I lost Mordin. I believe Tali was the heat shaft, Garrus was 2nd team lead, Samara was escort for Dr. (lost the Fish Feeder) and Jack on biotic shield. Didn't much care for her in main game but knew she'd be the bada** to go to for that sort of thing.

By end Mordin is shown dead as Collectors storm over his corpse. On a trial 2nd playthrough of suicide mission I lost both Mordin and Garrus (Lizardman might be deadly but he's no adept). How in the hell do you keep Mordin alive outside of escort duty. And has anyone determined if dice are rolled for survival or not? How in the world do you kill off Shepherd and still have success on mission? And I've been deathly curious just 'what' would have happened had I not researched those ship upgrades such as improved armor, weapons, etc. Needn't tell you that the Normandy suffers hell with them.

Is anyone capable of answering these questions fully?
And of course not a damn one of them survive if they aren't loyal lol.

Lastly, plastic bottle caps, they're about 3/4 inch thick and work just fine.

Thanks for the tips. I thought Mordin was pretty cool, but he's totally useless at the end apparently. But has anyone used him for the final battle? I really like his incinerate power.

For whatever reason, my comments didn't post the first time. Geez.

Anyhow I was wondering the following based on what I've read.

On first playthrough only Mordin died. Tali was heat shaft, Garrus 2nd team leader, Samara escort (lost Ms. Moneypenny), and Jack was my biotic shield. On trial 2nd playthrough of suicide mission both Mordin and Garrus died (Lizardman may be deadly, but not adept). So how in the world do you keep Mordin alive? Also, how do you manage to have Shepherd killed and still successfully complete mission? And furthermore, what in the world happens so negatively if I hadn't researched all the ship upgrades such as the armor upgrade, weapons, etc.?

Is anyone capable of answering this?

As long as you either blow up the joint or take the larval Reaper for Cerberus, it should still be possible for Shepard to die and the mission to be complete. I haven't lost Shepard yet, so I can't be sure.

It is possible for Mordin to survive leading the others back to the Normandy - that's how I set it up on my last runthrough. I had Miranda lead the second team, sent Legion through the pipes, and used Jack as a shield against the Collector probes; my final team was Shepard (of course), Jack (because she's just so much fun when she gets destructive), and Grunt (since my Shepard had the tech end of things covered, and Grunt's just so good at shooting things). And as always, I told the Illusive Man where he could stuff it and blew up the Reaper factory...

ive never had mordin die on me. as long as he is loyal. is it possible to not gain his loyalty if you give the genophage info to the krogans?

and to have the purric victory. at the end, if everyone on the crew dies no one is left at the ship to pull shepard up and he falls.

and i answered my own question, vanguards cannot double up on the weapons training nor get the widow sniper rifle or the heavy machine gun

I had no intention of appealing to that sleazeball Martin Sheen! Suck it bigot!

Anyhow, I would reckon I wear my white close to your red Deacon. I just don't like orange very much. :P

NOTE: I suspect with Garrus, if you are a female and want the romance option with him, you need to end his loyalty quest on the positive theme (let the guy live and get Garrus to realize it was the best thing for himself). Otherwise, I just couldn't seem to get him to warm up to my Fem Shep. :(

Strange, I let Garrus kill the guy on my female Shepard and had no difficulty at getting Garrus into the sack. Even pulled off a side romance with Thane that I eventually broke off to get with Garrus.

Also, new DLC, Kasumi Goto, her ability Shadow Strike... Overpowered as all hell!

...but so much fun, and that goes for the character herself, she's pretty much the only person you recruit who's mentally and emotionally pretty much healthy, aside from maybe Jacob, so she's fun to take with you on missions, rather than those other gloomy killjoys :P
