I was watching a documentary about a man who killed his entire family, and when the speaker described traits of all people who had killed their family.... the described me!
1. Not many freinds
2.very poor speaker (publickly)
3. distant with many people
4. other stuff that described me...

But as I watched I reliesed it was describing many people with aspergers......
we're not all serial killers you know!! !! !!

1. Not many friends : there's a huge difference between being actually anti-social,
and having social skills problems, wanting to be social, but being hopeless at it, (we have to Learn the stuff that neurotypicals get for free!) and just getting overwhelmed and running out of energy very quickly.

2.very poor speaker (publicly) : Ninety percent of people have this problem.
Seen that list of peoples greatest fears ?
Number one is public speaking. Number two is death! 8O

3. distant with many people : We're shy, they're completely apathetic.

4. other stuff that described me... Have you ever heard David Byrnes
"Psycho Killer" ?
He's an Aspy and that song wonderfully describes the confusion and alienation that aspies go through, when you're undiagnosed,
and trying to understand yourself,
and your place in the world!

I would hazzard that there's never been an Aspy serial killer.
Maybe crimes of passion, but it's just not in us!
We're creatures of peace and compassion.
We like things calm and uncomplicated.
We think about things, not people.

You need to know the psychological development of the man and series of events to understand what motivated him to kill them.

Those first 3 points aren't enough on their own. He has to have learnt somewhere that killing is either: pleasurable or necessary (I'm not saying it ever is btw...).

If you haven't developed that psychopathy, then you have nothing to worry about. If you have, then you should seek treatment immediately.

I remember when the VT massacre happened, the shooter reminded me of the "stereotypical autistic".

I mean when they said that he had no friends and was a loner.

1. There is also a huge diff between anti-social (which includes hostility)/antisocial personality disorder (which includes being charming, manipulative and sadistic) and being asocial, which simply mean that one wishes to be left alone.
3. Not all Aspies are shy, and there is no .

I just have to point out that one can easily both have an ASD (including social impairment) and be asocial and aloof.

Quote:
GILLBERG'S CRITERIA FOR ASPERGER'S DISORDER

1.Severe impairment in reciprocal social interaction
(at least two of the following)
(a) inability to interact with peers
(b) lack of desire to interact with peers
(c) lack of appreciation of social cues
(d) socially and emotionally inappropriate behavior

On another note I'm so tired of hearing about how sad or wrong it is to be reclusive, introvert, asocial and/or aloof. It's not. Being one or more of these simply mean you try to live your life the way you're wired (including your personality, not only ASD vs NT). It's more seldom, it's never wrong or sad.

I bet a lot of the antisocial (not APD, just being antisocial) being hostile towards society to a large degree derives from not being allowed to live according to one's harmless wiring. It's just another way of being and perceiving. No harm is done when someone is content on their own.

I was anti-social for the longest time, but I didn't turn out to be a serial killer.

I had lots of tests as part of my AS diagnosis and at one point the style and the tone of the questioning from the medical staff changed. Later on I found out that my psychological profile was very close to that of the typical serial killer and they were a little bit worried.

So, don't annoy the Slice, OK 8)

I hate to hear on the news that individuals go off on a killing spree because it effects me.
I find these suicides tend to put a negative image on loners such as myself.
Usually people who I am acquainted to hear about these vile tragedies. They then look to me and start asking questions about whether I had these thoughts recently. I personally DO NOT have any menacing thoughts towards anyone it is just not natural for me to think in that matter.

I got the feeling that not only did the Nixa R-II school district believe I was going to shoot up the school, but that they where actively trying to convince me to do o to get it over with.

I never went over the edge, of course. but boy did they push me close...

Jeffrey Dahmer was speculated to have AS. All the poor lad wanted was a harem of sex zombies. Is that so much to ask for?

The Unibomber has been suspected of having AS I could definately see that. I symphasize with his intentions but not his actions and what he did. He was extremely upset over the destruction of the environment.
