Share!

Post a link to your personal blog, other ASD support sites, scientific studies and more here - to create a repository of resources where a member, new or longtime, can go to find new perspective and insights into life on the spectrum.

In order to keep things orderly, I would ask that you confine your posts to a link to the site and a brief descriptions (around five sentences or so) about it's content, target audience, and objectives. Please be cognizant that there are members here under the age of ten, and if there is any potentially offensive content to please make note of that as well. Lastly, please do not use this thread as a platform to discuss the validity or viewpoints posted elsewhere - but do make use of it to start new conversations and link to this thread or the original resource for more information.

[edit] With my thanks to roguetech for the idea, please post your personal blogs here: Member Blog Registry [/edit]

A few online assessment tools:

AQ Test
EQ Test
Autism Survey - rdos

Three online tools that can provide a preliminary indication whether one's traits tend to be more in line with 'normal' behavior or exhibits tendencies of being on the spectrum.

http://www.autreat.com/
Autreat is a retreat-style conference run by autistic people, for autistic people and our friends.
Autreat focuses on positive living with autism, NOT on causes, cures, or ways to make us more normal.

http://www.autscape.org/
Autscape is a conference with a difference. Rather than talking to a primarily non-autistic audience about autism, this conference is specifically by and for autistic people. Some of it isn't even about autism at all! Non-autistic people are also welcome, but the environment and content of the event are centred around autistic peoples' needs, interests and sensitivities.
Autscape lasts three days in which there are workshops, leisure activities, social opportunities, and more, all specifically oriented to the needs and preferences of autistic people.

http://autismwomensnetwork.org/
The mission of the Autism Women's Network is to provide effective supports to autistic females of all ages through a sense of community, advocacy and resources.

http://aci.selfip.org/ (in Hebrew)
ACI - the Autistic Community of Israel, is an organisation by and for autistic spectrum people in Israel, for independent and mutual help and support.
ACI members are people of all hues of the autistic spectrum, who believe society should accept autistics' basic right to live as autistics by recognising the autistic being as a different and legitimate way of living.
ACI members aspire to have a self run autistic community, which includes spectrum people of all functioning levels and of all interpersonal communication levels.
An ACI member can be any autistic spectrum person, either formally diagnosed or not, who accepts ACI's principles and aims, whether or not xe is able to actively participate.

I don't know if this is the proper place but I thought this was a very comprehensive article on how autism can be misdiagnosed or missed entirely.

The Aspergian Pride Forum went belly up about two years ago but they still
maintain a portal to their own blog site and below a button that says "Proceed To Site"
there is a button for the Aspies For Freedom site and a list of at least 200 other sites.

http://www.aspergianpride.com/

And there is A.S.A.N. The Autistic Self Advocacy Network founded by Ari Ne'eman:

Here is someone I follow on both Twitter and Face-Book:

Emily (aka "Sophist) founder of Gestalt also bogs on the site above and has a Live Journal Blog she calls the Constant Observer":

And finally of course there is the Autism Hub: http://www.autism-hub.co.uk/

I want to talk about my blog, which is talking about Asperger's and Schizotypal Personality Disorder. It's called "Schizotypically Speaking" I'm going to be talking about what life is like being a Schizotypal and how we share so much in common with Asperger's
