Tell me more about your rats. I love rats! Is that one of yours in your avatar?

Yes that is Clover in my avatar. He's named after the four-leaf clover marking on his back. He also has a star (which is about 10 white hairs) on his forehead. The other two boys are called Milo and Gimli. They're all brothers and they're the same colour.

These guys were not bred very well, I think they were bred for snake feed. We got them at the pet shop. Milo and Gimli have mycoplasma symptoms which I sometimes have to give them medication for. They sound like they have a rattly chest and they sneeze and cough. Clover's not too badly affected.

They live in a 3 storey cage which is about 1.8 metres high. They use litter trays, all the time for their droppings. They will use the trays to urinate in but sometimes they don't.
They sleep in hammocks, or an igloo, usually piled on top of each other. Rats have to have company.

Clover knows his name and he will come running to me when I call him, but not to my son :lol:

They eat fruit and vegies and a mixture of cereals and grains. They like to have the large bones from a cooked chicken. They don't get that very often because we rarely eat meat.

A pet Kink? sounds great, but I'll wait till I can afford a breeding pair! :)

... for me though I think it has to be cats - and I do like hens too. Both are soothing, but hens are a bit manic.

I do like cats but if I had to chose one I would prefer a dog. My neighbors cats spend a lot of time roaming the neighborhood. I do like cats but I want a pet that's a little more loyal instead of only seeing me when it wants food & then scratching me when I try picking it up :x Only pet I have rite now is a chinchilla; their kind of high-maintenance compared to other rodents but I don't mind that

I like Shoggoths. They're great as watchdogs. They're also great guarddogs. While, just the other day, the mailman came to deliver te mail and I purposefully released the shoggoth. It devoured the mailman's head and left his body in a pool of his own blood. They're pretty easy to maintain. They need to be fed 3 times a day on a steady diet of orphan children and albino penguins. Image

Dogs are fantastic and I'd love to have one, but cat's are just so convenient and less work/responsibility. XD;
I guess you get back what you put in though, because dogs are more work but they're also smarter and more cooperative than cats. But I've just always had cats and I love having them around, so they win for me.
A goat or a skunk might be fun too.
Things that have to stay in cages are not for me.

I've had all kinds of animals as pets, including dogs, cats, mice, cockatiels, fish, & turtles. My all time fave is the dog. I finally adopted a new one after nearly 18 years without one. He is super affectionate, smart, & just a little naughty. I love being able to take him places. He's a regular at the local dog park, & he goes on walks, car rides, etc. Below is my dog. It was taken yesterday at the dog park. The only other animal I've ever wanted to keep was a horse. Never had one though. No more cats for me, I'm way too allergic.

Dogs! We have more than anyone would plan to have, and they're our family!
