Canada is a multicultural country, and that I'm very thankful for. I can live under the Maple Leaf, and still keep my love for England and all things English. We have many immigrants from many countries, moving in, every year. I like to call it, the Red Carpet Policy. With all these people of different cultures and nationalities, I can't help to jump on the bandwagon, or as it would be better called, The Peace Train, and just be myself, doing my own thing. :)

I have a question. Do you ever find that your love for all things English comes into conflict with Canada's French heritage? It seems that English and French people seem very irritated by each other and I am wondering if that carries over into Canada.

Although maybe with so many different ethnic groups it all mixes together.

You're living in Canada? All this time I thought you were living in Britain.

Anyway, the U.S. is also a very multicultural country, and we take pride in that as well. For example, Texas has a very large Hispanic population due to its close proximity to Mexico. The city of Arlington, in which I reside, has a large Vietnamese population.

I live in Québec. I am glad to see all the different cultures in our country. It's a shame a lot of people, both French and English Canadians, don't accept multiculturalism...

When you say England do you mean Britain? What about the Scottish, Irish and The Welsh, we also share the same cultural background as the English, cream tea anyone? :D

The island of Ireland is a separate island. About a fifth of the island (Northern Ireland) is within the UK. The rest of the island seceded from the UK in 1922. 'Britain' technically just means Great Britain (i.e. England, Scotland and Wales) but these days the term 'Britain' is often used as shorthand for the UK (i.e. Great Britain + Northern Ireland).

See my avatar map. :)

It's dull but there's quite a lot to do. Or perhaps that's just Toronto.

And they don't drink out there. Strange people.

I've proudly had the Maple Leaf on my TV area wall since Canada Day. I feel very lucky to be living in Canada. :)

I'm the opposite of you, I live in the UK but Canada is one of my obsessive interests, I even took Canadian Studies in my first year of university.
