^ That's why.

I thought it was rickets that sunlight prevented.

It's rainy and miserable further south in NSW too. I had a nice drive back from the Hunter region earlier today in the on and off again pouring rain. In terms of driving I prefer cloudy and dreary over sunny road glare though.

That's understandable.
I don't drive, though, so I like sunlight.

Eat fruit with vitamin D in it. IF you suffer from season affective disorder well there are always plenty of offers from men of the various nations of the arabian peninsular if you don't mind 24/7 sand

a few lifetimes ago i spent feb and march in the melbourne area. it was sunny 90% of the time. my favorite days were at ayers rock. man, how i love the desert. except for the RELENTLESS flies. 17 minutes to the top. felt great about that. went back down for shirt and camera/backpack and on the way back up, helped a guy carry a bicycle to the top. strange humans everywhere. just loved the view of the olga mountains from the top, small dimples on a clear horizon. it was wonderful. sigh.

live in kentucky now. it's about 50F, drizzly, and dark clouds everywhere. somebody...please.....get me back to alice springs!

Where I am, it is going to be 25-38 C, clear, dry, desert-like, over the summer... it wont warm up for perhaps another month though... still getting some cold snaps and rainy patches... It will be weird, my first summer in such an environment.

Weather is getting really nice here, as it's the time of year when the A/C doesn't need to be running 24/7. The sun is shining and there's a cool breeze.

As for building a plane, I can't help you with that, but piloting one isn't too hard. Pull back to go up (until it stalls and then you go down), push forward to go down. Left and right to turn. Rudder pedals keep the turns coordinated. It's landing that's the tough part

We have a saying here in Missouri:

"If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes."

In Saint Louis, Misery it's a sunny 61 here. Where I used to live, Nantucket,MA its a wonderful 62 with beautiful heavy rain and beautiful easterly gales.

Also, can someone tell me how to build/pilot a plane or a boat?[/quote]

Easy. Push the throttle knob forward until you are going really fast then pull the steering wheel back.
Lots of luck after that. :D

Evidently the weather demons heard me mention the sunny days. :? We're back to cloudy cloudy QLD.
It's raining, though, which I like.
