I was just watching the new AMC show The Walking Dead and I thought I would function well in a zombie apocalypse. I'll know what to do, what needs to be done- you don't need to talk to the zombies you just bash their brains out or shoot em up. I think I'd be a good leader and not to mention people will respect you for your clear headedness and abilities rather than social competance. Also social order (actually an order as we know it) is gone and thus pretty much everything aspies worry about with interaction would be gone. you could do what you want, however you want to do it. It would be sooo liberating!

just a random thought i had

I've read all issues of The Walking Dead except for the last couple ones. I don't think I would be able to handle all those stressful situations.

My friend and I have a plan for when the zombie outbreak hits. It will eventually happen.

Yes. Survival of the fittest FTW!

...

Seriously though, no. I wouldn't be able to handle all the gore, although apart from that I'm pretty safe as long as the zombies can't swim. Plus, I don't want (most) people to die. :?

I already do that now. Without worrying about the living dead feasting on my brains. So no, I don't want any new drama introduced into my life, including zombies.

No. I've never found the idea of zombies to be appealing. Beyond the obvious issues with death and fleeing for safety and all, can you imagine all the differences in life? It's not just social order that's gone; it's food stores and safe places to sleep and the ability to spend time with just your interest. It would suck majorly.

Something I've realised recently about myself is that anywhere I go to where I know I'll be staying at least overnight, I immediately start planning my "zombie apocalypse exit Strategy" once I get there, to weigh up the pros and cons between barricading in there against the eventual onslaught or cutting and running.

I do worry about myself sometimes...

I'm already living through a zombie apocolypse you've clearly never seen London during the rush hour

I just did a blog about this a few months ago. For me it's not about killing zombies as much as surviving in this world without all the people and comfort we have now. I'm good at inventing and making things, it's really about how I would use what is out there now to live. You have to suspend some disbelief, I don't want anyone to die, though there are too many people on the planet right now....

Sure.

I'll need an Iron Man suit (no power core, just the suit to prevent bites, scratches and contact)
A aluminum baseball bat... or wood (haven't decided yet). Think I'll go with one of each.
And a Ipod with 160 gigabyte.

I don't know, it has it's pros & cons

Cons:
Personal hygiene takes a distinct nosedive
Your have an increasingly detached relationship with your extremities
Vocabulary becomes limited to "brrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnsssssssss"
Diet can be an issue to vegetarians

Pros:
No longer need to go to worry about getting an unsuitable job
Seamlessly blend into a crowd of your peer zombies
No need to worry about following fashions and trends, or even changing your clothes
Lack of social skills also no longer a problem

Lol as soon as the sun goes down in my neighborhood its like that anyway... the only difference is these zombies have guns too and they don't want to eat you, just sell you drugs or rob you..

Fear not, if a zombie outbreak happens (or any disaster) I have enough guns ammo and MREs to last for 5 years...
