Asperger's is not noticed in early years. The reason why is human social interactions begin primitive and become more complex as we age, and it is this increasing complexity that makes the Asperger's more and more noticeable.

Many (most?) aspies are bullied as kids. I'm assuming that this usually doesn't happen right away in kindergarden because social interactions are not complex enough for the aspie to stick out. I'm curious to know: At what age did the bullying begin for you?

For me (who is uncertain of being an aspie), it was age 9.

8-9 I was super weird..... but then we moved from chicago to texas..... and it got worse. The kids in the new school didn't even pretend to tolerate me. lol I dressed weird, I ate the same lunch everyday (tacos with avocado). I didn't talk to anyone so they thought I couldn't speak english.

It started in kindergarten for me. I remember a girl in my class who hated me so much that she put a rock in my milk carton to try to make me choke. I was bullied throughout the rest of my school years till I eventually dropped out due to severe mental illness that was unrelated to the bullying.

I was six and it was in my neighborhood. Then it lead to school when I was eight. I wasn't picked on often at school when I was six and seven and I think it was because I was in special ed full time. Then when I was moved to my new school, that's when it started.

Before age six, I don't ever recall being picked on. Just occasional meanness and that's it.

Kids started bullying me when I was 6. I was in Kindergarten and I was in an LD Kindergarten class. The regular kids came into my class once a week, and we went to their class once a week. I was paired with the two roughest of the regular kids. They would rough me up and try to twist my right hand off, because I didn't use it as much as my left hand. They also kept asking me if I was a Cockney and they'd grab my chin and try to force eye-contact with me.

Upon moving to a new school at age 7, although I'm not sure (obviously) if bullying would have started at my old school if I had stayed (in retrospect, I was very strange, and not a "normal" child. Can't remember if I lacked in social skills.)

Aside from an obnoxious neighbor kid, I seem to remember everything being fine until 6th grade when we moved from the elementary school to the middle school. I guess that was about age 11-12.

In pre-primary, I was excluded by most of the kids in my age group, but the older students (read: grades 1-7) used to really beat me up (I think I came home with a black eye once). They also liked to swipe my glasses and toss 'em all around the place. Thankfully, I haven't worn glasses since grade 3. I remember the teacher tearing me a new one at one point and banning me from the library. Can't for the life of me remember why.

When I was in preschool and the early elementary years, my parents were more involved with my school and the other parents, so I had a lot of friends. Sometimes children made fun of the fact that I couldn't run as fast as they could but it was no big deal. It really started when I was in second grade and though I was in a mainstream school, I was forced to go to therapies with mildly retarded children.

I chose 10-11. Before the kids were somewhat good, because the adults told them Valoy is very smart, you should follow her example. Later they started to rebel against adults and they hated me. I wasn't very smart any more, I became weird nerd.

Preschool (age 4).
Not noticed? Ha! It was noticed, they just didn't have the right name for it back then. They called it a lot of other words, though.

I was 6. I was bullied because I never talked, I frequently moved my hands in front of my face, and I always cried.

In kindergarten the other children just left me alone and I was fine playing with jigsaw puzzles and other kinds of activities that do not require the participation of others. When I startetd going to schoool though I met another child who bullied and ridiculed me for the first time. Translated into age that means that bullying started at about six years of age for me.
