I am very sensitive to direct light, to the point that I live in darkness and have to wear sunglasses when I go outside, even at night (thanks to street lamps, headlights, and the like).

This wouldn't be a problem, but... recent events have caused me to consider the possibility that I may have to end up living somewhere with a lot of light.

I've considered Maxsight (tinted contact lenses that block UV rays), but it seems to me that maybe it might be best to find another solution.

I've heard B2 can help some people, but I take 1.7 mg of it (100% RDA) per day and it doesn't help me.

I know a lot of people on this forum have the same issues. Does anyone have an idea about what could be done to help?

Have you been tested for Irlen's syndrome. I think their lenses might help a bit more. I have extreme sensitivity to moving lights. Reading glasses are good enough to help me in bright light situations.

I had never heard of that before. I attributed a lot of the symptoms attached to Irlen's Syndrome to an endocrine issue. There are other symptoms that go along with the endocrine issue that doesn't fit in with Irlen's Syndrome, and certainly some symptoms that I don't think I have.

For example, my math skills are very good.

Then again, would the norm be for them to be better?

I'll look into it further. Thank you.

I think the poor math skills come from dyslexia-like symptoms of rearranging numbers and other such problems as that.

I'm giving Irlen glasses a go. I should be getting a pair in a month or so. I can let you know how I find them if you like. The lenses seemed to help reduce sensitivity during the tests.
