Usually when I get a jury notification, my mom takes care of it and just lies to them, saying I have the flu or something.

I've done jury duty, once ending up in a civil case that only lasted a day or so. Now, they have it where you have to call a number to see if your group is required to show up, the group is listed on the summons form. The first time I got the summons since they introduced the calling feature, I didn't have to go in. The second time I had to call in, I ended up being called in on the last day, which was a Friday. I ended up being done before noon as the cases that were originally looking for a jury got resolved. If you don't get on a jury, you're done after the first day as they only send you once to the selection process.
