That was my post over there. I find this very interesting. I googled it and it came up with alot of studies and other people who have come to the same conclusions. I think it is funny I have a very likely aspergers husband and BIL (self DX but I believe we could get a dx) and one is a firm believer and one is a firm unbeliever. Its interesting to see because they were together for years and very much alike.

Yes Twinsmummy, I read your post! Its something I noticed too!! People I know with Asperger's are atheist.. everyone else I know is religious.. at least they believe in a god.. Probably has to do with our very rigid and logical thinking..

No one is going to attack you! hahaha, there's nothing wrong with believing.. I bet it really helps you spiritually.. Sometimes I wish I could have that ability to believe in something I cannot prove, I think it would ease my mind a bit.. but I just cant..

I really do believe it does. Which honestly makes me praise God even more with what he did in my husband life because my husband is VERY logical and rigid. He is just like his brother.

I was always a "Christian" because I wanted to believe it, and my parents always took me to church each week, but my dad is now dating a born-again Christian and forcing me to go to church each week (I enjoyed not going during college, then my parents pulled me out of college) and it forced me to reexamine my beliefs...

Christianity is no more viable than any other religion or cult. One might accept it at first, but really the only difference between Christianity and Scientology is how much time has passed since they were started and how many people follow the religion. If society agrees that God exists, and it would be scary if he didn't, then he must!

I'd like to believe there's an afterlife, that out-of-body experiences are real and the conscience survives after death, but I'm not sure. I wonder if it's possible for an Aspie to have an out-of-body experience...for all I know it could be more possible.
