Well im Jewish and an Aspie...not sure as a percentage what we are within our community. We fit the stereotype though...unphysical, picked on, glasses, into books and learning....

I know at least five Jewish aspies. I've only ever met one aspie who wasn't Jewish, and I have no idea if she has Jewish blood. Then again, I hang around a lot of Jews, and a lot of socially awkward people (many of which are not aspies), so my Jew:non-Jew and Aspie:NT ratios are both pretty skewed.

That said, I want to see if there's ever been a study about a correlation there.

Interesting. To my knowledge, none of my Jewish friends or their children are Aspies. But, since there is a genetic correlation with AS, and more than most other faiths the term Jewish denotes a genetic lineage as well as a cultural / faith based one, it is quite possible that AS either runs stronger or weaker in the Jewish community.

ROCK of Ages topic

Not sure about the women, though I have not seen too many Orthodox women at the Western Wall, except ones minding the kids. It is always certain men, rocking, swaying, really getting into prayers. No wonder some call it the Wailing Wall. 8)

The rule based nature of Orthodox Judaism would be very congruent to the condition of Asperger's Syndrome. However this in no way implies AS is more common among Jews than non-Jews. Must Jews I know (and I know a great many) or NTs. I even married one.

im jewish and aspie, but I don't know any other aspie jews, really... but Judaism and me been aspie goes really well- like Shabbat laws, and the kashrut... stimming when praying...really fits me.
when I was in high school I lived in a really small town in brasil, and the only good school was a catholic one and most people there tought I was weird because im jewish, and they all had the impression that my aspie traits were jewish traits...but not, most jews I know are really nt heheheh
really, so many meltdowns avoided by lighting up the shabbat candles and praying (stimming!). In the summer, when Shabbat would not come soon enough, I would meltdown...
