I'm not a furry...but I like you furries :)

My ex (who is ASD) is a furry (bunny), I miss him/her so furries remind me of him/her which makes me happy and therefore furries rock :D

Sexual furries are in the minority of the furry population, as I understand. The reason why the media focuses on sexual furries is because of shock value.

Anyways, being a furry is for chumps. Sexual scaleys FTW!

I like to browse through deviantart or furaffinity and find some good drawings. There are good ones out there, you just have to wade through the crap first. I hate the sexual side with a passion though, I only like the innocent stuff.
I get really bored of the tonnes of foxes, wolves and wild cats that are out there. There are rarely any primates, and a lot of primate art I've come across ends up being that creepy/wrong s**t. I saw one where some characters were slowly morphing into chimps and stuff but it was drawn with the intent to arouse, it was just freaky and ewwww (transformation is a recurring theme in the furry world it seems).
There is an artist I really like on furaffinity and deviantart, they draw both anthro, weird monsters and normal comics. They've got a character called Billy that's on one of my old avatars:

For anyone who came here because they were curious but don't know much about furries if at all, I suggest that you read the Tvtropes article on what a furry is, because it has the best definition of them on the internet. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FurryFandom

I'd be what you call a furry in denial. I want to be one, but I don't like most furries. My interest in the fandom stems from the fact that I am very fond of animals and am majoring in biology. I like to draw them and I like to write stories from the viewpont of them. I like some furry art, preferibly the least anthropomorphized pieces. However, despite me being very accepting of everyone, I don't like how open the sexual furries are about their sex-lives and fetishes. It's friggin' creepy. I also think many of the fans are into very childish things or are themselves very childish. The only anthro movies I really like being Watership Down, Felidae, and The Plague Dogs(all very violent and cruel albeit good movies.), it's weird if I wind up talking to a furry who likes Balto or 201 Dalmatians. Finally, I find fursuiting to be a bit...weird. Sure, me dressing up as a Jedi and going to conventions(I'm a Star Wars nerd) is weird, but that's a cool kind of weird. Star Wars was a cultural phenomenon in the height of its popularity.

I also wouldn't like to be associated with furries. Most of my friends think I hate furries as much as them. I make fun of the weirder stereotypical furries all the time among them because I'm an anon. It's what I do. Many of them hate furries as much as I pretend to. I don't know if they'd accept me if I suddenly became one. They might get the wrong idea about me. They might class me in with the yiffing furries or think that I'm a child.
My parents know what furries are and have been fed some of the generic bull crap about them via tv, but they trust me. If I could sit down and explain to them what exactly it is, they'd wouldn't care less about me. Lawdy lawd, why does this have to be like coming out of the closet?

It's something I thought about a long time ago, but decided against it. I have friends who are into this (non-sexual, thank God). Some of the art I don't mind either and have even thought of a game surrounding of the idea of Anthropomorphic creatures. However, I don't actually consider myself a furry. It's an interesting subject, but I'm just not into the whole fandom.

I'm not a furry, but I do like drawing anthros (I say "anthro" rather than "furry" because the word "furry" has sort of a bad rep of being associated with adult content)

I'm a furry in that I like anthro artwork and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. One of my personalities is a bunny girl as well, and when I look at myself within my minds eye, I like to picture myself as part dragon. That latter part helps with my spirituality as well, but that's an entirely different subject that falls into one of the two things you should never discuss lightly.

Anyways, I've been collecting anthro artwork for about a decade now, and while I would never put on a fursuit, yiff, or go to a convention, I do on very rare occasions roleplay or let my bunny girl personality roleplay on Furcadia. I've been playing that on and off for about a decade as well.

Interesting thing as well - my high school term paper for English was a 20-page-report on Anthropomorphism, in regards to both the anthropological aspects as well as the furry fandom and pop culture aspects. I got an A+, but I no longer have the report handy. Oh well, I could probably do another paper and do much better if I could be arsed.

But yeah, I'm a furry.

On the very first forum I visited regularly(I came to WP after gaining some experience on said forum), there were tons of scalies. I got along with them great.

I'm not a furry, nor I am I particularly into furries (Is that spelling correct?) but I don't mind them. If a webcomic/story/piece of art is well written and/or drawn I'll read it just like anything else.

I WAS a furry. But since I'm asexual the overly sexual furs kinda scared me away from it all! :(

I don't get it, but more power to them- if all people were brave enough to be themselves, the world would be a better place.

People who "hate" you because you're different are upset that they're so very ordinary, or do so because they are ignorant, hate of the mis- or not-understood being something ignorant people are wont to do.

I'm not a furry, but here's a cat: :cat:

I am nearly asexual(borderline, as in that I'm content to live my life as a virgin, but if the opportunity comes, but I wouldn't mind being in a relationship. However, relationships are very low on my list of priorities) so the sexual furries do bother me a lot. Especially that they love telling everyone about their sexual interests. But I notice that all nerd communities are like this to some degree(almost everyone on 4chan and very many otaku for example, which also really annoys me). I believe it's pent up tension that drives them to act in such a manner. However, since furry fetishes tend to be stranger and more taboo, people tend to focus on those negative aspects and accentuate them to the point that the average person thinks that the entire fandom is a sexual thing. I find it hilarious when the same people who love to spam tentacle ponz and lolicon all over 4chan complain when someone posts yiff everywhere. If you'd like to see this in action(you'll need mind bleach), I suggest you guys head to /VP/ on 4chan.
