Hypothetical election day, binary choice
Though change still always risks King Stork.
I'm hoping for change of mind on the part of anyone who is considering actually voting for Obama.
I just don't see the "obvious" reasons for hating Obama.
I don't like him because he (like most American black folks) is center-right
but is a democrat because the republicans cater to racists.
he caves in to the right at every turn,
he has not stopped the wars,
the health care was severely compromised to the right.
so no I don't think I will vote for Obama but that is because
I don't like republican-lite.
but I certainly won't be voting for a full strength moron like Palin or Trump.
Maybe Romney because he is a secret socialist.
most likely third party.
I have yet to see any criticism of Obama (from the right)
that even resembles his actual policies or actions.

After this election & referendum plus with last years general election in the UK, am starting to lost faith in the electoral system as a whole. My country can't organise an election right like it can't organise a piss up in a brewery.
I said let Obama & who ever what's to take him up duel to the death, the last one standing gets the White House.
I'll pay good money to see candidates in gladiatorial combat for political office!
Don't worry, this thread is nowhere near representative of the American electorate at large. Since Aspies tend to be politically radical there's a lot more people voting against Obama due to his moderation (centre-rightism) here than there would be in America at large.
Akhi Ya`qov,
I cannot conceive of hating Obama. Totally irrational.
Your attitude sounds much like mine though differently grounded. The kind of guy he is he simply does not belong there.
What I do hate is the Elite Machine [whether ruveyn or I be closer to grasping its identity is immaterial] and this persistent "run who can win and worry about it later" policy [a philosophy it is not so long as I remember my Greek].

Where you have many people you have many more opinions, and so when you have many bosses you have many conflicting desires all working together to ensure practically nothing is ever done right nor in a timely manner. Of course, having a solitary boss with bad ideas ensures that nothing is ever done right either, but things being done wrong are then done in a timely manner... frighteningly... I suppose this could become a debate as to whether an absolute monarch is better or worse than a parliamentary bureaucracy, although with centuries of it already being decided in opposition of monarchs I am supposing the reflexive answer is against monarchy at all costs. I certainly wouldn't want Obama to be a monarch, that would be like flushing America down the toilet, although the dude seems to act as though he thinks he is already (like not getting permission to send troops from Congress, and otherwise just doing whatever whimsically, etc). Having political candidates duel would be cool though. I would suggest that each has a Dillon M134, walk 10 paces, turn to face each other, and start firing.

I dunno what to do this election. I am center left, but I think Obama is such a wimp for the republicans. Plus he put the head of Monanto in charge of dept of agriculture...do you have any idea what that will do to small organic farmers, which I am one of???
He also grossly funded the domestic spy program when he said he would stop it. He said he would end the war, but just wound up starting another one, he said he would end the tax cut for the rich...he continued them. The only thig he did that he said he would do was get OBL and the healthcare thing...which was really blueprinted from Nixon.
I am not impressed at all with him. Had he done all he said he would do, expecally end the domestic spy program I would be much happier, but no american is safe as long as that continues
I have really lost faith in the democratic process. I think I wont vote at all so I wont be responcible for the next liar in the oval office.
becides I am sure they are going to whip out those diebold voting machines and bring in the tea party...aka neo naxis

The democratic process died out in the States except arguably at the level or rural township elections. And even they can be as democratic as choosing the Prom Queen.
What we have is an extension of the mock election my class did around 52. Conscious raising and building self-esteem by giving people a chance to jump on the winning team's bandwagon.
I vote, ignoring the media, mostly because though I cannot be heard I refuse to be silenced.
