I hate the taste of most tap water, but I can handle bottled water. I've tried getting those pitchers that filter water so I could filter my tap water but I still hate the taste of it.

I actually drink almost only water, with some orange juice every now and then. I love the taste of filtered water, but I can't stand the taste of regular tap water.

The taste of all water varies depending on the dissolved soilds and other things that might be in there - including what type of pipes you have, what you municipal authority uses for filteration, naturally occurring sediments, chemical additives - like flouride.

Pure water is supposedly tasteless. Steam distillation is supposed to be the most watery-est water you can drink. It has nothing in it but H2O. It is flat and lifeless but gets the job done. Water with naturally occurring dissolved minerals and negative ions supposedly has the best taste - kinda sweetish. most bottled water is just filtered tap water - or not even filtered in many cases. Read your labels. Bottled water is one of the bigger cons perpetrated on the American consumer.

That struck me as odd question, but actually- if you live in Kansas I could see why youd hate the taste of the local tap water. Kansas tap water has a notorious bitter/salty tast thats easy to hate.

But most tap water Ive tasted in the rest of the country doesnt have any tast at all to me.
Bottled water sometimes does somehow taste more refreshing than tap water for some subtle reason.

This.

Water itself doesn't taste like anything. You're tasting the minerals and other deposits in the water. Usually you can only taste that stuff if you get water from somewhere that has crappy plumbing and/or a poor filtration system.

I don't like water. I drink tea most of the time.

Our local tap water is fairly unpleasant - rather metallic and dusty-tasting, but it's fine after running it through a water filtering jug.
The worst tap water I've tasted was in Brixton, London. Just disgusting stuff and it always came out of the tap slightly warm.

I would recommend getting a water filter. It filters out all the minerals and the water tastes like nothing. It connects to the sink faucet. I hated sink water as a kid because fridge water tasted better. That's because it was filtered.

I was drinking sink water here and it tasted fine but my husband hated the taste of it. So he bought a water filter two weeks ago and put it on and had me try it and then I tried the regular water again and I thought it tasted like brand new plastic or something. I finally smelled the taste because I had tried the filtered water.

Sometimes it has a bit of a bland taste for me. Sometimes room temp water is damn cold. But I drink water because I don't drink anything else. Well apart from a tea at night.

You can try putting flavors in it. You can find them in the Crystal Lite aisle of your local supermarket.
I hated the taste of water as a kid. Now, I can drink bottled water and do alright.
Do you drink a lot of sugary soft drinks or other drinks with a lot of sugar? That can cause your taste buds to crave sugar flavoring. Non sugary drinks will be rejected by your taste buds. You can retrain them by drinking less sugary drinks and more things like unsweetened tea and water. I read it takes a while for the taste buds to get used to new flavors, but once they do, they will crave the new flavor over the old one.

I have the same problem, try drinking flavored water. After doing that I seriously drink far more than 8 glasses a day. I drink a TON of water everyday. However there is no way I could do this is I didn't have it flavored.

Depends on what water tastes like, on a different note though I used to have a huge problem with the way drinking water felt, it felt wrong to drink for a long time but I forced myself to get over it mostly. It wasn't just water either but water was the worst, milk comes in second.

Right now I like drinking flavored tea in a can.

It depends.

Up here where we have really good water, sometimes even then I'll hate the taste of it, but this is usually due to side effects from medication.

I HATE chlorinated tap water. I also dislike the taste of hard water.
